It began with a desire to create a truly Japanese hotel with elegance and comfort equal to the world’s best luxury hotels. Hotel Okura originally opened its doors in 1962 guided by this powerful vision. In 2019, The Okura Tokyo marks a new beginning with two distinctly branded wings: the restrained and elegant the Okura Heritage and the Okura Prestige, a modern, urban hotel. The Okura Tokyo is suffused with the refined and elegant Japanese aesthetic and a commitment to providing Japanese-style hospitality to each and every guest. We are waiting to serve you with our unique version of Japanese hospitality.

Some reviews say this is more of a corporate/ business hotel but my wife and I did not find this to be the case at all. Even upon entering the large landscaped area at the front, rather than being dropped off on a busy Tokyo street, the relaxation begins. The greeting is amazingly welcoming and stepping into the huge impressive lobby which seems to cleverly absorb sound, relaxes you even further. Check in is quick and extremely courteous with any and all available staff saying hello and bowing slightly in the usual way. It was just getting dark when we were shown into our 30th floor room and the cityscape views were stunning, with the Tokyo Tower being visible on the right. The room layout was very different with a sort of ‘island’ closet unit between the bathroom and spacious bedroom areas. We’d chosen a room with the bath in the window which was fantastic with a beer after a hard day’s sightseeing. We ate in the 41st floor Teppanyaki restaurant at sunset which was a fabulous experience, with the chef displaying his incredible skills to prepare the amazing food. We found the ground floor Orchid bar’s laid back, dimly lit vibe to be very relaxing and preferable to the upper floor Starlight bar. Sitting at the bar I made a wonderful new friend in a Japanese businessman and we had one of those drink fuelled Japanglish conversations about our lives. One example of the level of service was demonstrated by the handling of our taxi booking which I’d made the night before. Upon our way to check out, before we’d even reached the desk, a lady asked for our room number and who then knew immediately that we had a taxi booked and asked if we needed any help with our luggage. All in all a truly 5 star stay.

If I could give 10 stars I would.. The finest hotel I've ever stayed in. It was business trip so lounge was included and wow what a lovely experience. From the cleanliness, sheet quality, the most comfortable bed ever, Amazing gym and lap pool. This hotel takes things very seriously, and have succeeded in becoming a world class destination. Cons: 10 minute walk to Subway. Need a Peloton style bike.

I am in the middle of a complex month long trip to Japan and have been using Okura hotels as staging points. The Okura Tokyo is fabulous. It has replaced the Park Gyqtt as my favorite in Tokyo, if not the worker.

As an Exclusive Member of Oneharmony, I have stayed at the Okura more times than I can count. This time around I stayed for a full two weeks and was not ever disappointed or discontent in any way. I felt comfortable and welcomed by a "goodmorning" or "welcome back" from the staff. My room was clean, my bed was made, my towels were fresh, all by invisible hands in the mornings and evenings. What a wonderful hotel with excellent restaurants like Yamazaki in the Heritage Wing, Sazanka on the top Floor with a glorious view, and Kyubey hidden in the basement. I enjoyed my stay fully and can recommend the Okura any time and always. Thank you!

Nestled between the creations of Richard Neutra and Mies van der Rohe, this extraordinary building, designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, is situated in a beautifully landscaped business district. It's no wonder world leaders stay here, as the hospitality reflects the hotel's exceptional quality. A scene from a James Bond film was shot in the vast lobby. The rooms are particularly comfortable, as is the enormous breakfast room with its seemingly endless buffet. A fabulous stay awaits you.
