With an incomparable perspective on the city and a singular, moat-side setting just opposite the Imperial Palace gardens, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Palace Hotel Tokyo is a haven of hospitality – serene and refined, and imbued with understated luxury throughout. Paying homage to a legacy that dates back more than half a century, the multi-award-winning modern masterpiece is a sophisticated celebration of its country’s culture and a tribute to omotenashi – Japanese hospitality.

Luxury hotel with extensive facilities misses the mark on a few important aspects. The hotel food and beverage is expensive, I mean really expensive. $18 dollars for half a cup of green tea in the lobby expensive. The service staff are everywhere, but it’s all very regimented - no room for a personal touch. The concierge could not provide any suggestions for dinner, just asked where we wanted them to book. What really annoyed me was being turned away from both the bars in the hotel in the evening because “they were full”. The gym is nice, but the pool is quite awkward. All in all - it felt like a large well oiled factory catering to big weddings and business clients. Would I stay again - probably not. I would look for a hotel with a bit more warmth and real customer service. Polite “I’m sorry” all the time does not make a 5* hotel in my opinion

The service from all the staff was to another level. The reception room service waiters all were so polite and friendly. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Always well supplied also

Possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed! Rooms, service, employees, location were all exceptional. There are many 5 star hotels in Tokyo, but do not miss The Palace!

We stayed at Tokyo Palace a decade ago and then returned during our recent trip to Tokyo. Hotel is elegant and classy without being stuffy. We stayed in an executive king with balcony and views of the city. Location is absolutely lovely and convenient and it’s short scenic walks to the palace, as well as Tokyo Station. The executive lounge is our absolute favorite. Service, as can be expected, is impeccable. Room service is prompt. Only blips are that the hotel pajamas have ill-fitting sizing (all our other hotel pjs fit fine; theirs did not!). Also, on the day we left, we checked out at the executive lounge. We were rushing as we were running late to the airport and were stopped by hotel staff as we’re getting into our cab and made to wait as they wanted confirmation that we had paid our hotel bill. At this price point and tier, I’d expect better communication between executive lounge and lobby. Other than this, superb stay.

Very friendly staff and top class services right beside the palace park and gardens. Straight downstairs to underground train station and other shops and restaurants including convenient 7-11. Easy check in and out. Taxi drivers know exactly where it is. :-)
