The Park Hyatt spans from the 39th to 52nd floor in the glass tower designed by Kenzo Tange. It is one of the best hotels in Tokyo and is a legend, best known for its starring role in Lost in Translation alongside Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. It offers flawless service, views of Mount Fuji and one of the most atmospheric cocktail bars in the world. The guest rooms at Park Hyatt Tokyo are spacious and serene, each offering walk-in closets and high-tech amenities. All guestrooms are appointed with original artwork, exquisite woods and fabrics and books for reference and pleasure.

I am writing this to formally denounce the deliberate dishonesty displayed by the Director of Rooms, Anna. To suggest that the pink mold in my shower—a blatant biological hazard—is actually a "natural stone reaction" is not just an insult to my intelligence; it is a fraudulent attempt to cover up a sanitation failure. Let be clear: "Serratia marcescens" (pink mold) is a bacteria, not a mineral property. By rebranding a health risk as an "aesthetic stone characteristic," the Director is gaslighting guests to avoid the cost of proper maintenance. This isn't a "new material" learning curve; it is a leadership team lying to a guest’s face to protect their metrics. WARNING TO FUTURE GUESTS: Management at this property has shown they will prioritize deceptive excuses over your health. If you see "discoloration" in your bathroom, know that they are aware of the mold and are choosing to let you shower in it while calling it "luxury stone." This is a premium-priced property with basement-level hygiene standards and zero transparency.

I was really looking forward to experience Park Hyatt Tokyo post refurbishment. This was a big disappointment. The sound insulation is extremely poor. Hearing the sirens at all times of day and night was stressful. We got moved after lengthy talks. It was slightly better, but they did not sound insulate properly during the refurbishment. The French food was outstanding though. The swimming "Lost in Translation" pool is exactly the same as in the film.

We stayed for two weeks to coninside with the Tokyo Marathon Weekend. I know the Japanese culture is focused on service and respect, but I have never experienced what the value this hotel provided my family and I. They anticipated needs I didn't know I needed, assisted with the language barrier and made us feel welcome as foriengers. Due to the length of our stay, we had housekeeping due our laundry. When we were returned our clothing, they looked better than when they were originally purchased. The colors were brighter and the whites never have been brighter. We had some hair ties in a pocket and they were returned with a personal not in an envelope. What was even more surprising was when at the airport, I received a call that an iPad was left in the room. They sent me an email to confirm shipping to my home. I paid the cost of shipping, but then again I left it and wouldn't expect the to. I will only stay at this hotel when I'm Tokyo. As well, it was only a 10 minute walk from the train/JR station.

From the moment we checked in, the experience felt exclusive and elevated. We were promptly checked in, personally escorted to our room, and given a thoughtful tour of the space — something that immediately set the tone for the stay. Waiting for us was an incredible surprise: a full-size bottle of well-known champagne and beautiful flowers. Such a classy and romantic touch that made the occasion feel even more special. After a great night’s sleep, we opted for the Japanese breakfast — and it is an absolute must. Beautifully presented, authentic, and delicious. If you’re staying here, don’t skip it. We also made sure to visit the spa and pool facilities, which are a must — especially if you have Hyatt Globalist status. The serene atmosphere overlooking the Tokyo skyline is unforgettable. The onsen on property was amazing as well. Important note: it is not clothing optional — you must be fully nude to use it, which is standard for traditional Japanese onsen culture. At check-in, a young man named Hasan assisted us, and he truly elevated the experience. He reassured us that our bags would be safely stored while we went out shopping and to dinner before heading to the airport. He was professional, polite, and genuinely helpful — service like that makes all the difference. Overall, I highly recommend this property. It is absolutely worth redeeming Hyatt points here, especially when cash rates exceed $1,200 per night. For a romantic stay in Tokyo, it doesn’t get much better than this.

My wife and I were in Tokyo for the marathon and she wanted nothing more than to stay at the Park Hyatt. The newly refurbished facilities looked great, the rooms were clean and spacious with amazing views, and there was no shortage of staff members greeting you and offering their assistance. It made our entire trip all the more enjoyable.
