Reviews for The Peninsula Tokyo

Refreshing Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My stay at the Peninsula Tokyo was perfect. I took a cab there and was being welcomed warmly. The stuff at the receptionist was able to handle various languages and gave me a very efficient check-in. The room and the view were good. I took a tour with my friend in Tokyo and when we got back, a very good dessert from the cake shop was placed on my desk. The whole room was set to a “sleep” mode. It was the exact thing I need after a tiring walk in Tokyo city. The hotel offered a la carte breakfast. I ordered the Japanese style one. Light and fresh, just like how I started that day.

Classic Peninsula elegance

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I have stayed at many Peninsula properties, and by far this is the best appointed. The location could not be better, close to imperial Gardens and with connections to the metro through its basement. The service is of course top notch and the rooms are great. I would love to come back here

Consistently Excellent Stay at The Peninsula Tokyo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I’ve been staying at The Peninsula Tokyo for many years, and even though the hotel opened around 18 years ago, it continues to look fresh and well maintained. The rooms remain exceptionally spacious for Tokyo and thoughtfully designed. For me, small updates such as a larger television with streaming options and slightly firmer pillows would make the experience even better. The location is excellent — right in the heart of Yurakucho and only a 5–10 minute walk to Ginza. The hotel connects directly to the Hibiya Line, with the Marunouchi Line about five minutes away on foot. The JR Yamanote Line is also just a short walk, making it very convenient to get around the city. Service has always been strong, with staff who speak excellent English, remember my preferences, and consistently go out of their way to be helpful. I also find the PENCHAT service via WhatsApp extremely convenient, and the laundry service is impressively fast (I believe it’s just six hours). Overall, The Peninsula Tokyo continues to deliver a high standard of comfort, service, and convenience — one of the best choices in Tokyo.

Absolutely fantastic hotel with charm and elegance.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

If you are in Tokyo, then don't miss this amazing hotel. The service was outstanding and the room, although a little dated, was beautiful and spacious with fabulous views. They even treated us to a bottle of champagne for our 30th wedding anniversary. On our next visit we decided to try The Mandarin Oriental and regretted every minute that we had not returned to The Peninsular. The rooms and service and restaurants and facilities there were no where near those we had experienced on our previous trip.

Hard Bed Great Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel was conveniently located above Hibiya station and a short walk to Yurakucho station and Ginza. We took a pleasant mile walk back from Shimbashi too. The beds were too hard; I think a futon would have been preferable. Otherwise, everything was 5*. Breakfast was 7800 yen, not a buffet and in the lobby.
