One of the city’s most luxurious hotels superbly located in Yurakucho, opposite the Imperial Palace and Hibiya Park, The Peninsula Tokyo offers commanding views of the Japanese capital skyline. The Hotel is within minutes' walk of the shopping capital of Ginza and Shinbashi. What sets the Peninsula Tokyo apart from other international luxury hotels is its focus on creating a modern Japanese ambience, whereas other hotels adopt a standard international décor. The Peninsula Tokyo’s interior and exterior is contemporary, yet echoes Japan’s rich heritage and culture in its design. The Peninsula Tokyo pampers its guests with a spa center and a fitness club with a swimming pool and sun loungers, overlooking the Imperial Palace Gardens. Ryokan-inspired rooms are simple and streamlined, designed with the idea of "techno-ergonomic-user-friendly", so every control and switch is located precisely where it is required so its use is intuitive and effortless. The granite and cherry wood bathrooms with large soaking tubs will make your stay a pleasant relax.

If you are in Tokyo, then don't miss this amazing hotel. The service was outstanding and the room, although a little dated, was beautiful and spacious with fabulous views. They even treated us to a bottle of champagne for our 30th wedding anniversary. On our next visit we decided to try The Mandarin Oriental and regretted every minute that we had not returned to The Peninsular. The rooms and service and restaurants and facilities there were no where near those we had experienced on our previous trip.

The hotel was conveniently located above Hibiya station and a short walk to Yurakucho station and Ginza. We took a pleasant mile walk back from Shimbashi too. The beds were too hard; I think a futon would have been preferable. Otherwise, everything was 5*. Breakfast was 7800 yen, not a buffet and in the lobby.

We spent our first four nights in Japan at The Peninsula Tokyo, booking two rooms for our family of five—a Grand Premier Room with Palace Garden views and a Corner Premier Room with City views. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, though the décor felt slightly dated. In hindsight, the Palace Garden view upgrade may not have been worth it, as the view was quite limited; the city view was perfectly fine (and I’m usually happy to splurge when the view is truly special). The bathrooms were beautifully appointed, and the closets were enormous—large enough that a crib could easily fit inside and still feel like its own small room. The staff was excellent—warm, attentive, and consistently helpful in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was tasty and filling, though it was à la carte rather than a buffet like many of our other hotels in Japan. The highlight of the hotel is its fantastic location. Situated right on the edge of Ginza, it’s an easy walk to shopping, dining, green spaces, and public transportation. Navigating Tokyo from here was a breeze—whether by taxi, Uber, or the subway system, which we found impressively efficient. Overall, we felt the price was very fair for the quality, service, and location we received. We would not hesitate to recommend The Peninsula Tokyo to anyone seeking a luxury stay in Tokyo.

We recently completed a stay at the Peninsula Tokyo. The room itself was great. It was large, had a walk-in closet, a large bathroom, as well as a big living area which had a view of the city as well as the Imperial Palace. The service in the room was great for both housekeeping and turndown - you felt very well taken care of at all times. The gym at the Peninsula was large and they had a fantastic sauna, steam room, and spa. Additionally, there was a giant pool which we did not take advantage of, but we saw many families doing everything from playing to swimming laps. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious. It comes with a variety of Western and Japanese options. I highly recommend the avocado toast which was so good that I had it four days straight. The only issue with the hotel was that we found that the concierge wasn't particularly helpful. They did not seem to have many recommendations and were not able to answer what we would consider to be some basic questions.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Everything about it was perfect — the place was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and well-maintained in every detail. The location was absolutely excellent, close to everything we needed and made it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights was seeing the incredible “Lying Dragon Gate” sculpture in the lobby — a breathtaking piece by artist Keisen Hama. And it was nice to see the artist behind this incredible pice . Overall, it was a memorable and impressive stay, and I would definitely return and recommend it to others!
