Reviews for The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo

Epitome of the Ritz-Carlton brand!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Checking in on a weekday, it was fairly calm and quiet. We stayed 5 nights so we did notice on Friday/Saturday around check in time it was noticeably busier than when we checked in. Reception is on the 45th floor so you’ll always have to take two elevators from your room to the ground floor. Bia H. at reception was absolutely amazing, sweet, kind, friendly and attentive and really set the tone for the rest of our stay. We were able to secure a cash upgrade that included club lounge access. I want to say right here that if you can splurge for a club room, just do it. Looking back, it made our stay significantly more pleasurable with club lounge access. We knew this prior to booking but FYI, as a MB Platinum Elite member, take note that you do not receive complimentary club lounge access. This is across all RC hotels. The club lounge is amazing and service at the lounge was impeccable. Japanese and Western breakfast styles were offered along with an egg station and THE absolutely best part is the croissant waffles that are made to order. Afternoon tea is served from 2:30-4:30 and it’s topped with dessert bites, savory finger sandwiches in the middle tier and the bottom are scones and biscuits. My kids inhaled the bottom tier and requested we make it back for afternoon tea every day. Afternoon tea is very popular and can get quite busy. The view of Tokyo while enjoying breakfast or afternoon tea is a plus as the lounge is on the 53rd floor. We were searching for a hard to find item in one of the stores in Tokyo and Fukuyoshi “Yoshi” at the lounge went out of his way to help us with the search. Not only was that extremely helpful but it really made our stay even more special. There are people that do their job and then there are people that care about their jobs and this is what sets the bar for the level of service at RC. We’ve stayed at other hotels in Tokyo before and the rooms in RC are fairly large considering it’s located in central Tokyo. Bathroom is spacious, toilet and shower are separated with frosted glass doors so more than one person can be in there at the same time. There is a control panel built into the center nightstand that with one touch you can turn off all the lights as well as shut your drapes automatically. I wish I had this at home! The views from your room is gorgeous, during the day and the night. The hotel is attached to Tokyo Midtown and downstairs is the Galleria Plaza. There, you can find 7-Eleven, Tomod’s (drugstore), Precce (Grocery store), a wide variety of restaurants (from take out, casual, to high end) and shops. You can walk to the Oedo and Hibiya train lines without going outside (very helpful in the August heat). The service provided from everyone was excellent, always a smile to greet you and is what I expected from the RC brand. However, RC Tokyo is really standing out above the other RCs we’ve stayed at. So much so that if we come back to Tokyo again, it’ll be hard to stay anywhere else.

Perfection - Worth Every Penny

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I don't make a habit of leaving reviews, but I had to because this was the best hotel I may have ever stayed in, that isn't a tropical resort. The staff anticipated all our needs, the room felt huge, clean, and luxurious. The Towers restaurant breakfast held up its Michelin star rating. I was already going to give this a 5 star review, but after staying the final night of our trip at the Andaz (which felt like a major downgrade from the Ritz), it made me appreciate just how flawless the Ritz was. Everything here felt effortless, elegant, and worth every penny. I will absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Tokyo

One of the best hotels in Tokyo

An exceptional stay in every way. The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo combines understated luxury with flawless service and breathtaking views over the city. The rooms are spotless — maintained with an extraordinary level of care and attention to detail. Every corner feels fresh, calm, and immaculately clean. The Club Lounge deserves special praise — it’s truly one of the best. From an excellent selection of drinks (including premium wines and Japanese whiskies) to beautifully prepared dishes served throughout the day, it elevates the entire stay. The staff there are attentive, warm, and always one step ahead of your needs. The spa and pool area are equally impressive — serene, elegant, and perfect for unwinding above the city skyline. Whether you’re relaxing in the pool or enjoying a treatment at the spa, the experience is pure bliss. A perfect sanctuary in Tokyo — refined, peaceful, and effortlessly elegant. Highly recommended.

One for the Record Books 🙏🙏🙏!!!

For the first time, I'm completely speechless/in awe with our first rate experience at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo. This prestigious property stands right above "Tokyo Midtown" (mall with restaurants and shops) outside of Roppongi Station exit 8. We were here for 2 nights to celebrate my wife's birthday after a family visit to the Hokkaido region. I did reach out before our departure from the States and applied two Nightly Upgrade Awards for this special occasion. The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo team was extremely prompt and informative with their reply of the hotel offerings. Our family would like to send huge thanks to Mr. Abe Yutaro and the rest of amazing staff for everything, this is the perfect conclusion/icing on the cake to our family vacation in Japan. Some of the notable highlights of our stay include: 1. Everyone from check-in to housekeep to the club lounge (the experience is so worth paying for) were so courteous, helpful, and welcoming. 2. The look on our daughters' faces when they entered room 4711, "The Modern Japanese Suite." Appreciate Mr. Yutaro and the exclusive staff's generous hospitality!!! 3. The culinary experiences and the view from the Club Lounge on the 53rd floor (it's so worth the upgrade, again I can't emphasize this enough). I had plans to visit Shibuya, Shinjuku and some of the top attractions in Tokyo on our first night, we ended up swimming and admiring the view and taking in the ambience from the Club Lounge 😂. 4. The small details and the surprises (chocolates, fruits, and champagne).each time we came back into the room, thank you so much, couldn't asked for a better way to celebrate my wife's birthday. 5. We were so fortunate to meet Mr. Yutaro upon our arrival in the gorgeous 45 floor main lobby. The two of us spent more time taking about college basketball in the Big Ten than the actual check-in. Our family have been extremely fortunate to travel the world and spend our share of nights in hotels (Titanium with Marriott and Diamond with Hilton & IHG). This unforgettable stay is truly one for the record books and holds a very special place in our hearts, we can't recommend this iconic Tokyo property enough!!!. Thank you Mr. Abe Yutaro, Ms. Emiko, Ms. Mikiko, the Club Concierge Team, and the rest of the first rate staff for everything!!!

Excellent service and location, great hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed here for three nights as our first stop in a two-week trip to Japan. It was the perfect place to stay in Tokyo, and a fantastic start to our trip. The lobby is beautiful, with great views of the city. Location is perfect and central between the east and west sides of Tokyo. (We explored both.) The hotel is part of a high-rise building with a mall that includes several restaurants and cafes (including a Starbucks, which was much-needed in those first jet-lagged days.) The level of hospitality service was outstanding throughout our stay (we booked two private tours through the concierge and several dinner reservations), but I want to give a particular shout-out to bell services: For the last leg of our trip, we went to Tokyo Disney and the hotel we were staying at (Fantasy Springs Grand Chateau) did not offer van transportation to the airport that could be booked in advance. While we could've taken our chances getting a van to the airport on the day of departure, I preferred to have this pre-booked since we were a party of four traveling with four large suitcases. I asked the Ritz Tokyo if they could book our airport transportation (and airport escort/departure services)--even though we weren't even staying at the Ritz for that last leg of our trip. They took care of this without any hesitation. I thought it was great that they continued to book services for us in the Tokyo area even though we were no longer staying at the hotel for that time. Highly recommended.
