Shangri-La Tokyo

My daughter and I just spent 4 nights at the Shangri-La and we LOVED it. Staff very friendly and accommodating and our room was very luxurious and room amenities were first class. The buffet breakfast was OUTSTANDING and the made-to-order waffles using Japanese flour and a special kind of egg was absolutely delicious. Our room looked out over the Tokyo Train Station and any noise we heard was very minimal and didn't cause any issues with sleep. The location was perfect not only because of it being right next to the Tokyo Train Station but it was less than a 20 minute walk to the grounds of the Imperial Palace and it's very close to the wonderful Daimaru department store with its enormous food hall in the basement. The Shangri-La will be our first choice when we return to Tokyo.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in September 2025 at the beginning of a tour of Japan. First time I stayed in a Shangri-la-hotel. We had a Horizon Club Deluxe Room. I originally picked this hotel mainly because of its location (very near the central Tokyo railway station and convenient for subway-access). The ability to use the Horizon Lounge was a factor too (although in the end we only used it for breakfast). The room was very nice and of a generous size (considering the central Tokyo location). Staff were very friendly and helpful (although this was pretty standard throughout our tour in Japan). Service in the Horizon Lounge was very good and the breakfast catered to all needs. We had diner in the Piacere restaurant one night and found it excellent, both in terms of food and service. I would recommend this hotel for tourists eager to explore Tokyo in a convenient way while having very comfortable lodgings.

We had a more than just perfect stay at the Shangri-La Tokyo, starting with our splendid corner-room at the 36th floor and its great city-view. The attentiveness, thoughtfulness and friendlyness of all staffmembers taking care of us could not have been better, starting with the pick-up-service when we arrived by the Shinkansen-train at Tokyo-Station. In general the whole staff attending us at the Horizon-Club at at the Hotel in general was overwelmingly caring during our five-nights-stay. Nothing could have been better. We have stayed at many Luxury-Hotels worldwide - the Shangri-La is exceptional. And last not least: the location of the Hotel near the Imperial Palace and the Ginza-shopping-district and especially just beside the main-train-station is just perfect, not only when you want to make a Shinkansen- daytrip - as we did - to Kyoto, but also to get from here day and night to many popular locations and restaurants in the city-center by foot or taxi.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was incredibly clean, and the room was very comfortable and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was perfectly organised. We felt completely at home and would come back anytime.

We had a wonderful time at shangri la Tokyo for our 7 nights stay. Prime location and right next to the Tokyo station. We received outstanding services from everyone we encountered at the hotel and definitely our choice again when staying in Tokyo!
