Reviews for Rio Serrano Hotel + Spa

We Didn’t Want To Leave!

This hotel was sublime. Great welcome when we arrived, such friendly staff, there was a lamb barbecue that evening which was free for all, and we got vouchers for a free Calafate sour. We stayed in a superior room, with an amazing view of the Massif. Macarons and fudge were delivered to our room as soon as we got there. The breakfasts were the best we had in four weeks of travel around South America, such amazing choice. Food in the bar was lovely, I can recommend the king crab chupe and Calafate sour! We never felt the need to try the restaurant as the bar was so nice, and all the staff chatted to you and asked about your day. We used the pool and sauna, which is beautiful, and was empty when we were there, very relaxing. We booked a number of trips through the Massif, and they were all out of this world, Nico was a delight, and made our trip ( we got to see a puma on our first day). Everything was so well organised, I literally could not fault anything with this hotel. We were sorry to leave, and I would love to return.

Amazing hotel in an idyllic setting.

We stayed here for 4 nights a couple of weeks ago. The location is in a stunning valley, close to the river and with an incredible view of the mountains. We could not have asked for a more fabulous view, and with the weather, an ever changing view. The hotel is modern and well equipped. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The welcome drink in a flask in our room was very nice. The room was clean, spacious and had a huge, very comfortable bed. The bathroom wasn’t very big, but it served its purpose, The thing we were most impressed with was the food. In an all inclusive, we would expect the food to be reasonable but not memorable. Here, it was incredible, dinners better than some Michelin ⭐️ places we have eaten. Breakfast is good and the variety in the lounge bar downstairs was impressive. It was definitely the best food we experienced during 3 weeks in South America. The only negative we could say is that the elevator was always like an ice box and the lounge and restaurant were often cold. Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever. We would definitely recommend the Rio Serrano for anyone wishing to visit Torres del Paine.

Torres del Paine

Rio Serrano is the best spot to stay at Torres del Paine. Choose the Torres del Paine room view and you’ll be delightful with the scenario. The hotel is very good, the food is amazing and the rooms very good also. The pool is beautiful with a perfect view and the SPA is amazing (I did a massage that was perfect) Nevertheless I have to express my disappoint with the restaurant service. Not the food but the service itself. The staff is not the best and not very welcome. The price I paid to stay in Rio Serrano is very high to have this kind id service. In the breakfast I asked for a boiled egg and the person in charge told me that I had to pay!!! WTF!!! Pay for 1 egg in a high standard hotel??? Nonsense! In the restaurant the welcome service was not amazing. Lack of smiles, lack of caring with the customer. What concerns the pool, I think you should consider to limited the kids in the pool. The idea of the pool, the views and the ambiance is to be peaceful and quiet. That doesn’t happen with the kids shouting and screaming all the time in the pool. Overall I love the placement and the room view, but you have to think the details. People using this hotel wake up very early and do tuff trekkings and like to be cool and chiling and not be disturbed by noisy kids or having a bad welcome at the restaurants.

Idyllic location, great facilities and tours.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. Rooms were very comfortable. The swimming pool with massage jets was excellent. The food and drink in the bar and restaurant were good. The rainbow trout in the restaurant is recommended. The tours offered by the hotel were fantastic. The full day base of the Torres hike is not for the feint hearted and very rewarding with stunning views. The guides were excellent and made sure that everyone was safe. The horse riding was also very good - you do not need to have previous experience of riding horses as they are very gentle and are walking most of the time. Rodrigo, who looks after the horses chooses the right horse for you! Only regret was not having more time to enjoy the hotel facilities more.
