The Oberoi, Mauritius

When i say holiday destination what's there in my mind, clean and well ventilated rooms, pleasant atmosphere, worm and friendly service, a good food, and most important is privacy. and what if i get good location, beautiful beach, amazing restaurants, lot of space for children to play, water activities its like beyond imagination, apart from all around static components, what really made my trip memorable and i am saying beyond perfection is people, staying with such a wonderful team and managers is like staying in Royal Palace with Royal service. Team amazed me in every interaction, they are so focused and they exactly know what I need at what time without even asking they just surprised me, and my family. For example when i came back from long hectic day at Casella, i found my bathtub was filled with warm water just for relaxation. may be another one, when i have catch flight early morning i chose start without having breakfast but to my surprise packed fruits, juice and sandwiches were ready for my departure. Its Beyond perfection. Thank you will be less appreciation for my experience, Amazed !

I had the most beautiful 4 days of stay at this resort. Of course the property / amenities are par excellence but the best part which makes the experience stand out is the warmth and hospitability and the service provided by the staff. From giving cakes. Champagnes and candles, caps and scarves to allowing early checkin and getting our car repaired to arranging breakfast in bed to giving impeccable shopping recommendations...all voluntarily, this is easily the best hotel experience of my life so far. What also stands out is that there are laods of complimentary activities and classes you can take benefit of during your stay. Special shoutout to Antish and Prakash and some of the other staff (some names I am unable to remember). Hands down value for money!!!

Amazing ocean , hotel grounds, villas and outstanding service. We stayed only one night but we wish could be longer. We were treated like royalty from the beginning to the end. Memorable experience!

We stayed at the Oberoi for our Honeymoon in September/October 2025. We thoroughly enjoyed our 14 nights there and would gladly come back again for another visit. We chose the Oberoi especially based on numerous reviews praising the whole team for the amazing service and all we can say is that these reviews were absolutely right! Firstly, on the hotel itself, although it might be on the older side compared to other newer hotels on the island, the entire hotel and grounds are impeccably maintained and cleaned. Everything is so clean, the beach is swept daily, the gardens are maintained, the rooms are serviced twice a day - everything is luxurious and comfortable! What really sets this hotel apart is the terrific team that works together seamlessly to keeps the place running - from the gardeners to the concierge to the restaurant teams to the spa and wellness teams to even the security personnel tirelessly manning the gate. Everyone is incredibly friendly, personable, professional and helpful beyond measure, and they really made us feel so welcome and comfortable throughout our stay! Pritam was a fantastic concierge who assisted us with lots of recommendations (from food to shopping to diving to hiking). He even made the effort to obtain some local chilli sauce for us because we loved it so much. We very much enjoyed the yoga and tai chi sessions that we had with Henrios - he was the perfect embodiment of zen, patiently and thoroughly explaining the exercises to us as well as the philosophy behind the exercises. We enjoyed the time with him so much that we asked for a private session with him so we could learn more! We also found the body toning exercises very fun and suitably challenging. The instructor was incredibly friendly and listened to everybody’s needs; whenever anyone in the class needed adaptations to the exercises to suit their comfort/fitness levels, he was always more than happy to oblige and we got to exercise in a very relaxed stress- (and judgment!-) free setting. Anjanee at the spa reception was very friendly and helpful in helping us to make arrangements for both our massage session and the various activities that we wanted to sign up for. We had the Oberoi Signature treatment with Preety and Samanta - this was an absolute delight for the senses, in a gorgeous and utterly serene setting. We regret only doing one spa session during our stay, but honestly, there is so much to do both in and out of the hotel that it was hard to make more time for multiple spa sessions! Samanta in particular was an amazing therapist - she somehow knew exactly how much pressure to apply and where. She was precise and measured, putting just enough pressure to give relief but without ever going into painful territory. It was one of the best massages ever from our experiences all over the world. We want to also mention the outstanding staff who work in the restaurants and also take care of the pools and beach areas. Having stayed there for 14 days, we really had the privilege of getting to know many of these people because we were seeing them on a daily basis. And we say it was a privilege for us because we very much enjoyed the many wonderful conversations that we had with them. They were always so warm and open, and we loved to hear about their lives, their hopes and dreams, their families, and essentially to see Mauritius through their eyes. They were also very professional and always quick to attend to our needs - they even remembered our breakfast favourites and preferences for tea/coffee and juices. Special shout out to Shaan (to whom all of the above comments apply), Aum, Riyuni, Darshan, Aditya and the rest of the team for making us feel so at home over our whole stay. Thank you also to Chef Udit for the daily dosa every morning - what a perfect way to start each day! It must also be mentioned that the breakfast menu is very extensive and we enjoyed trying the many different options in addition to our daily dosa! If you’re relaxing on the beach, you get complimentary cold towels, face spray, and iced water delivered straight to you, along with ice cream and cut fruits! Shaan and the team at On The Rocks arranged a beautiful private table on the beach for us on our last night in the hotel. The food was impeccable and the service was divine - the perfect way to spend our last night on the island. We even got to speak with Chef Singh who shared so many great tips on healthy cooking and eating. He was so generous with his knowledge and we wish we had more time to learn more from him! You can also tell that Aditya, the General Manager, is very serious about the standards of the hotel in general. We saw him pretty much every day in various parts of the hotel, checking in with guests and communicating constantly with the staff, always making sure that everything was running smoothly. We also took part in many of the free activities available at the hotel. In particular, we enjoyed the rum tasting (very engaging and tasty!), the cooking class with Chef Sounita (she was so earnest and cheerful), and the star gazing session (with a real expert who was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information with us). Special mention also to the housekeeping team (Anisha, Antish, Razah and many more) who worked tirelessly to service our rooms twice a day. They always ensured that we had enough towels and water, and even prepared a nice bubble bath (with romantic rose petals!) for us on some nights, as well as fun towel animals left on our bed! We unfortunately left something behind in our room when we checked out. The housekeeping team found it quickly and Savio, the Executive Housekeeper, accounted for it and informed us straight away. He communicated efficiently with us over email and went above and beyond to arrange delivery of our items back to us in Europe, which we are very grateful for. There are so many other wonderful things and people that we want to mention, but we have to stop somewhere. In summary, if you’re looking for a truly unforgettable experience with a great team looking out for your every need, do yourself a favour and look no further than the Oberoi Mauritius. We can’t wait to be back!
