Taj Lake Palace

The Lake Palace is a magical place in a most beautiful city!! The staff made us feel like royalty from beginning to end. Maan Singh picked us up from the airport and narrated the drive to the Lake Palace through the beautiful city of Udaipur. After a scenic boat ride to get to the palace, Naman, Rajendra and staff welcomed us warmly, including a welcome greeting by the ravanahatha player. Next, Naman gave us a tour which included stories about the king. Then he surprised us by telling us that we’d been upgraded to the King’s suite! It was an incredible and majestic room fit for royalty of course (see pics)!! At dinner Manuja was attentive with the black pepper as well as encouraged us to have the blueberry ice cream made on premises (delish!). Other attentive servers during our stay included Manok Chok,Vahendra,Oveish, Mahesh, Vuhraj, all in food service then Harsh and Mahendra in housekeeping who brought us lots of extras as we requested. Farid gave us an amazing tour of the lake which included showing me the stage where Beyoncé performed for the royal wedding!! We enjoyed folk dancing and music in the courtyard. Staying at the Lake Palace at the end of our vacation in India was the perfect ending to seeing this amazing country! We hope to return soon!

I must mention that the whole team at Taj was Fabulous! Every department & every team member was so in sync with each other, it came across as one cohesive well oiled machinery with great culture and leadership at the top. It was our first time stay with Taj and the whole team ensured it was the most memorable travel experience ever for us. We were welcomed by Kajal who took very good care of our overall experience. Krish had good connect with guests and actively solicited feedback. We also met Jasbinder Kaur who guided us very well on our sightseeing options and Priyanka and Mahender and Mahender and Krishna Gopal from Rooms. A special call out to the entire staff at Jharokha whose love, warmth prevented us from wanting to eat out anywhere else throughout our trip. The chef - Babu Singh was amazing, kind, considerate and very creative!! Pramod and his entire restaurant staff - Alona, Vikki, Oveish, Himadri, Pradeep, Mahesh, Vaibhav, and many others have truly made our trip so special and memorable! Thank you to each one for going above and beyond at every step!

If you have been eyeing this hotel and cannot seem to make up your mind, I am here to tell you that you NEED to book it asap. While the winds have always carried the many praises of this property, it was finally time that I gave in and booked it. From the moment you set foot on their premises, you are in their caring and thoughtful hands. You enter with a shower of rose petals, delicious welcome drinks, and the signature Mewar hospitality. I was celebrating my mother’s 60th birthday, and they left absolutely no stone unturned in ensuring that our 3 nights were magical. I have stayed in hotels all over India, but this was the BEST one and that’s saying something. The price tag is justified, and everything – from the staff to the actual property – runs as a well-oiled machine. I would like to specifically thank Mr. Babu Yadav, Ms. Kajal, the butlers, and the support staff who made our meals extraordinary. Everything we wanted was made available, and they were extremely accommodating to our requests. Their on-site restaurants are amazing, and we did not feel the need to step outside even once. They even went ahead and organized a cute cake cutting with decorative umbrellas and gave us a souvenir to remember! The turndown service, surprise foot baths and foot patches, flower decoration in the room, complimentary upgrade, the heritage walk, the view, and the stellar breakfast were all done so exceedingly well that I had actually made up my mind to return even before checking out. The rooms are tastefully designed, keeping their grandeur and traditional touch intact. It’s so plush and comfortable. The property is a bit limited in size, but everything has been preserved beautifully, and the views are unmatched. Thank you to the wonderful team for making our stay so memorable. I am glad that the legacy I have heard of for so many years as a native of Udaipur is still being honored.

Our experience at the Taj Lake Palace was nothing but magical. From the moment we arrived, every detail exceeded our expectations and created memories we'll treasure forever... The welcome ceremony was spectacular being showered with rose petals while traditional dancers performed, receiving a tika and garland made us feel like royal.... Our room was exceptional, featuring panoramic views of both the majestic Udaipur City Palace and Taj Fateh Sagar, with Lake Pichola stretching out before us. The sitting area became our favorite spot in the room, so peaceful and captivating that we often found ourselves relaxing there... The evening entertainment programs were delightful and showcased local culture beautifully. The boat ride was absolutely exceptional.. Our guide was outstanding, providing fascinating insights and ensuring we didn't miss any of the palace's rich history... Strolling around the property was pure joy. Every corner of this palace offers something special, from architectural marvels to serene lake views. The entire experience felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The Taj Lake Palace truly delivers on its promise of providing a royal experience. Every aspect of our stay was superbly managed, making this one of the most memorable hotel experiences we've ever had. Highly recommended for anyone seeking luxury, culture, and unparalleled beauty in Udaipur.
