Our lunch at Lake palace was nothing short of magical. Chef Babu ji, Mahendra Vaishnav and Pradeep singh charan made feel us truly special with immpeccable food,warm service, and a beautiful royal palace experience.

All is well and good
Restaurant and meals were too good. Chef Babu Singh ji all preparation were marvellous . Amit , pradeep singh , Mahendra vaishnav , two Darjeeling female staff were very much cooperative .

Family lunch experience at Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur
Our family lunch was an amazing experience at Taj Lake Palace - we were looked after and treated like royalty, from service to cuisine to extra little touches. We were grateful for Vijay and Pradeep assisting us.

Shockingly outdated !
Easily one of the worst hotels! We stayed at the lake palace in December 2025 with such high hopes of this supposedly amazing hotel but were sorely disappointed at how shabby and poorly maintained it was. The bathrooms are barely bigger than airplane bathrooms and the decor does not seem to have been updated for decades. They looked like bathrooms that belonged in a 2 star hotel. The rooms were tiny and musty smelling. The food at all 3 restaurants on location were way below average including the one that is a Michelin guide restaurant which was actually the worst offender out of the 3. Taj resorts-please do better!! They were once the shining beacon of Indian hotel resorts in the 90’s and sadly have not kept up. It’s sad to see the state of this particular resort but we also had dinner at Taj Prakash resort in Udaipur which was just as poorly kept if not worse. Don’t waste your hard earned money on the Lake palace. The location is spectacular but that’s where it ends and is most definitely not worth even half the exorbitant nightly price they charge.

Memorable Taj Lake Palace
We were warmly welcomed and received exceptional service. My husband’s birthday at this hotel was truly memorable, with the chocolate train, cake, and umbrella. Our room, 121, was fantastic, featuring a sunken jacuzzi with amazing views and an automatic privacy screen. There were many special touches throughout the hotel. The setting on the lake, with its beautiful gardens and views, was perfect. The rooftop dinner was romantic, with delicious food and excellent service.
