Reviews for Ca' Sagredo Hotel

Perfect Hotel for Venice trip !!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed in room 102, which is the Grand Canal Junior Suite. The room was beyond nice. It was beautifully decorated, immaculate, and what an impressive view! Beatrice was a concierge and a delightful addition to our visit. She provided a tour of the hotel and told us the story of its history and current day historic status. She provided great restaurant recommendations. She made arrangements for water taxi service to tour the Vetreria Estevan Rossetto 1950 glass factory, at Moreno, and she arranged our water taxi transportation to the airport. The breakfast buffet was a wonderful way to start the day. A full buffet of quality food and drinks and a very attentive staff. The hotel is in a perfect location. It has immediate access to the Ca’ d’Oro vaporetto stop, gondola port and door front water taxi. Lovely shopping, restaurants and even a grocery store tucked away discretely.

Good connections on the canal

We liked it, me more so than my partner as it’s not modern but I liked that it’s quaint. Marble floors and right on the water. Typical med style breakfast. Lovely pastries and the waitresses at breakfast told us the history and we enjoyed that. A pleasant stay.

Not luxurious

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This is definitely not a luxury hotel. We are Hilton Gold members and got the most basic of rooms. The carpet is dirty, the room is dusty and the bedding is a flimsy sheet and flat comforter on a low, hard mattress. The room doesn’t have proper nightstands and there are no outlets by the bed for charging phones. The dresser in our room is behind the bed and the ceiling is sloped so it is inaccessible without ducking. When we tried to open the drapes we got dust all over our clothes. This hotel is in need of a refresh.

Always special but not as good as before

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Ca Sagredo has a special place in our hearts. We got married here and we will always stay here when we come to Venice. The hotel is lovely. We love it. Charming, authentic. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and excellently located. But this time a couple of things were not so good. Profit ahead of customers. No cola. Okay readers might laugh - really? I can here some saying. Really - is that an issue? Well yes. The hotel now only serves Italian branded drink. And it’s awful. Dreadful. Terrible. Absolutely horrible. And we have no choice. Why? Because they make more money. But in reality they don’t because we bring it in from outside. Such a stupid decision. Then there’s the wifi. The hotel tell you it’s fine. But it’s not. WiFi reception in the rooms is terrible. Awful. This trips was the third different room we’ve had in the hotel and we’ve had the same issue each time. Poor reception. So. Everything that’s good is still good. But a couple of issues now - smacks of profit above customer.

Perfect location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I was really nervous about what to expect at this hotel. All my communications prior to arrival were uninspiring. I could never get a reservation person on the phone, as I had to make changes to the on line reservation and it said I needed to call to do so. I kept calling and they would tell me to call back. After several emails, the issue was fixed. We were also trying to arrange a water taxi for arrival with them and that required many emails back and forth with them clearly not reading what I sent. However, once we got there, I was impressed with the staff. The location of the hotel is perfect. They have their own dock which was a must for me. You can take private water taxis right from there. The location is perfect. Just a couple of minutes from the popular, super crowded areas. It’s nice to walk out of the hotel onto a quiet street before you are met with the hoards of people wandering around the city. We had a junior suite and it was very spacious. The AC was lackluster at best. They have to come unlock it for you and then it does not even go below 18degrees C. It also kept shutting off and not going back on until we reset it. It was hot and uncomfortable during the night. The only critique I have is that the hotel is very old, and not in a grand, historical way but in a shabby way. The rugs are all frayed and they are bunched up in the middle- in the rooms, the halls etc. I’m shocked no one has gotten injured on these. The furnishings are worn as are the draperies etc. fresh paint, carpet and furnishings would make this hotel five stars in my eyes.

“It’s a nice hotel, the staff is very attentive. However, although the rooms are lovely the main lobby and rest of the hotel is really nothing special.”
-Stuart

“I was satisfied with our room and the service of the staff. The only disappointment was the so called light lunch included in our package which actually translated to a bowl of nuts and a bowl of chips. But on the whole it is a beautiful hotel.”
-Gaurav

Ca' Sagredo was a delightful experience. Located on the Grand Canal, just a stone's throw from the water bus stop and with its own water taxi dock for those who prefer that method of transfer, it was easy to get to. The hotel itself is very pleasant with an outside dining area right on the canal, or a small inside dining room. We had dinner one night at the hotel and found it to be delicious. The staff was competent and pleasant, and the room comfortable and reasonably spacious. I would recommend the hotel.

The setting on the Grand Canala made our fiftieth wedding anniversary really special. The Ca' Sagredo was a perfect spot to experience the magic and romantic history of Venice. The hotel is palatial with lovely murals, exquisite floors, classical furniture, glistening chandeliers and Murano glass light fixtures. The entire hotel staff was superlative and incredibly charming and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a lavish breakfast buffet and candlelight dinners overlooking the gondolas and boats on the canal. The piece de resistance was our rooftop terrace attached to our luxurious suite. This is a hotel to remember and re-visit.

We spent four wonderful nights at the Ca' Sagredo Hotel. We found the staff to be efficient, helpful and courteous. They were unobtrusive yet available when we needed their assistance. The room was magnificent and very comfortable. It was cleaned quickly and well each morning, usually while we were out at breakfast. We were promised the best view available on our arrival and they followed through on the promise. Our water view room was only one back from the rooms fronting the canal and since it was on the third floor, the view was stunning. The food served at breakfast was delicious, offered a wide selection, and was served in two beautiful rooms by very gracious staff. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and each staff member we encountered from our first contact to our last was wonderful. The hotel is truly a beautiful palace and we appreciate the excellent service provided by the entire staff.
