Venice, a captivating city which strikes the eye and moves the heart. Enveloped in the same magic, the Metropole offers you emotions involving all the senses. Eccentric, warm, eclectic, a place where the décor becomes an emotional experience, where each detail tells a story. A 5 star hotel that seduces and charms, a restaurant that surprises for its creative cuisine and the fame of its awards. Behind both of them, love, care and persistence. The resulting mood is incomparable. After all, here nothing happens by chance.

From the minute we arrived, the staff were really helpful. We came in off a cruise ship so arrived at 10.30am. The reception staff were so accommodating and let us have our room very early. The room was a suite with a huge seating area, and large bathroom. Only thing I didnt like was climbing over the bath for the shower. The Bed was comfortable and room quiet at night when we closed the shutters. We liked the location just a short walk to St. Marks Square. Breakfast was nice in the courtyard, not a huge choice but enough to eat. We loved our stay here.

Really a mixed bag. The bad: Location is near the water front where the taxies and embarkment point for cruise ship people for St. Marco. Very noisy and overrun until later at night. Close to St Marco Square Noise: They blast bad, annoying music in the hallways until early evening Room: Full of weird stuff that makes usable area small. Shower is weird and floods small bathroom area. Food: Was underwhelmed. Bed: Hard with a dip in the middle. The good: Service was responsive and polite. Common rooms nicely done. We would not stay here again.

I knew I would enjoy the Hotel Metropole Venezia due to its history, but the hospitality was amazing. Giuliano Brogliato, Head Concierge and Guest Relations Manager, was so gracious, giving us a tour of this beautiful property when we arrived. No matter what we requested, he would make it happen - from recommendations to transportation to tours. This same hospitality continued down to all the other staff and employees we came into contact with during our stay. We appreciated Ada (spelling?) who had a table ready for our family both morning and evening. She was lovely. Our rooms looked down onto their beautiful courtyard and one room looked out onto the lagoon. The rooms were beautiful and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. I should also add that the food was delicious! We thank all the staff of the Hotel Metropole Venezia for a wonderful stay in your hotel and hope to see you again someday.

Garden is a haven. Rest of Hotel needs refreshing. Some rooms old with cigarette odor issues. We were unfortunately placed in what was called "a preferred suite" (#157). It was shabby and bleak with a prominent cigarette smell. A/C was noisy and needed new motor. We were told that the Hotel was full and there were no other suites available. The Hotel has newly renovated rooms/suites that one should request at check in (#211). There were parties and loud music in the Garden area that our suite overlooked. Music till 11:30. After 5 phone calls, Management still showed no concern. Concierge was requested to hire a water taxi for us to go to the Piazzale Roma in order to pick up our car. Service took us to the Train Station (20 minutes away from the Piazzale Roma). Driver stated to us that that was where the concierge requested we be dropped (as he sped away). Staff generally friendly and competent. Breakfast sparse. Drinks in garden heavenly. Property in Great location. Recommend as a 4 (not 5) Star property.
