Great hotel and service. Lots going on last week in Venice and they made sure the distractions were not an impact to their customers.. Canal view rooms are spectacular and the dining experience at Gio's is well worth it.

A wonderful hotel just a short walk from St. Mark’s Square! It is beautifully decorated and laid out well. From the lobby to the guest rooms, it’s definitely five-star quality. We stayed in a suite with a huge balcony and sitting area that overlooks canals and other parts of Venice. Our room contained two bathrooms, a master bedroom, a huge living room, and a nice outdoor space. Upon arrival, we were given a bottle of champagne. It was a nice touch. I would recommend the hotel, but it can be very, very pricey.

Average hotel and not the luxury experience you would expect from St. Regis property. Stayed over a weekend - Friday to Sunday and AC did not work in room at all. (3) service trips and all they could do it bring a fan to get the room below 75 degrees. Housekeeping did not come the entire day on Saturday. No hot water in the room. Many other options if you are going to spend 2k a night.

The carpets were dirty in halls, we had ants in our room, our coffee pot had hair and was dirty, we lost power in the morning for 2.5 hours so we missed our tour. The overall experience was not what we expected and we will never go back. The view from our room that I paid so much for, was a small smidgen of the grand canal.

Let’s start with the great… - the view from breakfast - the location is right in the middle of where one might want to be Now on to the less so… - On the first day I was out from 8am until 4pm and come back to find the room unserviced. - No room upgrade for my gold membership. The hotel was busy but I was aware I was paying more per night than others due to having booked late but was in a pretty ordinary room. When I extended they had a chance to move me. They could have a reflected the room rate and status. They didn’t, and yet I was still required to pack my bag as though I was going to move. So even the communication to tell me I did not need to would have been appreciated. - On day two they came to service the room at 3.30pm and then came back for turn down at 5.30pm and again at 8pm (because I did not let them in at 5.30pm). It was actually a bit disruptive. - While breakfast was included, it was not in the record and so each day I had to remind them and then it was fixed…but I could have lived without the daily trip to the front desk. - But what really got me was at the end. I was looking forward to me water taxi up the grand canal to the airport. I asked for a water taxi, but no, the hotel booked something other than a water taxi (some sort of venice tourism service). They took me through the back canals (and far less beautiful area of venice) and charged me more for the privilege than the water taxi from the airport to the hotel. Why use such a service that takes customers such a terrible route. Particularly as the hotel is on the grand canal to begin with. What a waste of EUR 160!!!
