Founded in the early Twenties with the name Select Palace Hotel, in 1925 it was extended by two floors and embellished by the magnificent façade that harmonizes the central part. Time has transformed it into a Grand Hotel of international fame that is the preferred residence of aristocrats, intellectuals, and artists alike. Rechristened the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in 1938, its grandeur has captured the attention of countless directors becoming the scene for prestigious cinematographic productions. Restored to the height of its splendor in 2004, after 19 months of restoration, today the Principe is unquestionably one of the world’s most historic and elegant hotels. The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte has 102 rooms and suites laid out across five themed floors either with a sea view or looking out at the Apuan Alps with every modern comfort and offering truly excellent service. The rooftop terrace is situated on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, a stunning location with a magnificent pool overlooking the sea of Versilia.

Haute Hôtellerie in the true pure sense ( combined with high-end prices). Absolute perfection in every detail, same Belle Époque atmosphere like at La Reserve de Beaulieu, Dolder Grand, Quellenhof, Hotel de Paris, Breakers Palm Beach. We usually spent 2 weeks in September and May, will come again in June ( just weather may stop us). The Grande Maestro Guiseeppe, famous Chef of the hotel 2 stars Michelin restaurants personally greeting us every morning and creating finest art of our fantasies on top of the Tiffany Breakfast Buffet worth Guinness Book page. The only breakfast where we had 4 waiters around our table permanently ( just Restaurant Le Louis XV - Alain Ducasse im Hôtel de Paris has 5-6 for the dinner) . We have met the billionaire owner for wonderful conversation. Genius entrepreneur and intellectual, he invested/fully renovated hotel for more than EUR 200 mio just for his love to Italy. As we told highly respected owner the only improvements to the hotel would be to extend Grand Breakfast till 12.00, and have special program for long or often staying guests ( like all the owners of the hotels mentioned above did after my humble advise). The Bistrot on the rooftop would be a perfect location to a copy of the Le Grill Restaurant of the Hotel de Paris, with open vertical wood grill as perfect attraction for spring, automn and winter. We went to the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte to celebrate New Year’s Eve. At first, I was quite skeptical about this idea, but once we arrived, we were immediately welcomed in a very warm and friendly way. After enjoying a wonderful 90°C sauna (according to the Russian tradition before New Year’s Eve), I got ready for dinner, which turned out to be astonishing in every way. During dinner, there was a live music concert, mainly jazz, my favorite genre, so I was more than happy to listen to my favorite melodies, surrounded by people joyfully dancing and smiling. It was an experience absolutely worth repeating. I would already like to book it again for next year.

Location is good. They have a valet service and also recharge your electric vehicle. We had a deluxe room, which was spacious and high (about 4 meters). Big and good bed. Lot of space for your luggage. Bathroom was big, both a bath and shower, and a sauna! There is a rooftop pool with heated water. Service was prompt, professional and friendly. And the breakfast! It is by far the best I’ve ever had! ABaC and L’Enclume have very good breakfast too, but nothing compared to Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte. Everything was first class and it was a lot! You shouldn’t miss if, if you are staying here. One of the best hotels I have ever visited.
