We stayed after Xmas, a family of three, and had a truly wonderful experience at the Amauris. The staff was super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, the room was great (except the bed was too firm for my bad back for me so they put a topper on) . The food in the Bistro was delightful and super delicious (we could not get in to their 7 course restaurant as it was always full-book ahead) and their breakfast was to die for, the most delicious (a la carte) - whatever you do not not miss breakfast. Peter was very helpful and informative. The location is excellent (but if you only want high end shopping then the Rosewood is maybe 10 minutes walk closer), close to the best museums, the Opera House, and other performances. We say in the best hotels in the world and this is up there with the best in Vienna. Cannot recommend it enough.

The Amauris is a beautiful hotel in the center of a beautiful city. We were close to the opera, shopping and a quick tram ride to the art galleries, churches, city library (must see) and Christmas markets. It was seriously the best vacation, best hotel and the best food. Highly recommended!

Outstanding in every sense - location, service, comfort, cleanliness, luxury. Smaller, more intimate boutique quality allows more personal and thoughtful attention by staff to all one’s needs and preferences. Easily accessible to public transportation and all cultural activities without the crushing crowd of travelers.

One of our most memorable stays in Vienna was at The Amauris, a beautifully restored 19th-century palais and part of the highly regarded Relais & Châteaux collection. Our Maisonette Suite felt like a private hideaway with marble finishes, curated Viennese touches and rooftop views, and the location made it easy for my wife and me to walk to the opera and explore the Ringstrasse. Breakfast quickly became a favorite ritual, and the spa beneath the skylight was the perfect way to unwind after full days in the city. Highly recommended!

Over the years, after staying at many hotels, we're still discovering what makes a hotel stay special. We typically love staying at small hotels in the mountains because the personal connection with the staff there makes those stays special. Getting this kind of personal connection in city hotels is often much more difficult, as hotels are larger and staff are more numerous. While it was a slightly larger hotel in a big city, the Amauris had so many personal touches like a small hotel and is truly special. The staff across the board were incredibly friendly and professional. Breakfasts were top-notch (I'm going to miss those poached eggs and ginger shots). We had one dinner at the more casual restaurant, and it schmeck sehr gut with a really fun wine list. Location is fantastic, especially if you are going to concerts and/or want to visit the museums. S-Bahn and U-Bahn stops are right outside the front door Rooms were incredibly spacious and had great amenities. We often used the Nespresso coffee maker and tea pots. Our room faced the ring road but was very quiet given the location. Showers were so nice, it was hard to get out of them Bottom line- This was our first trip to Vienna, but hopefully not our last, and we'd definitely return to the Amauris! Worth the splurge.
