It looks grand, but mostly that is a facade. Our room was terribly clean (at one point I asked the maid if I could borrow the mop to clean the bathroom floor as my feet were sticking to it.) The heat was very, very noisy and not very efficient. Our room looked at a courtyard with blocky walls in the back of the building. I had a sandwich in the mainfloor dining room that cost almost 50 euros and took almost an hour to be served. However, the breakfasts were very good. The worst part was when we asked our concierge which bus station (it was all written in German) we needed a cab to (we showed him the digital ticket) and he sent the driver (and us) to the wrong station. We missed the bus (the only one going that day) and had to completely re-arrange our travel plans. It was an expensive hassle.

The Grand Hotel Wien in Vienna is a truly beautiful place that blew us away from the start. Right when we pulled up, the staff was so warm and attentive—it instantly made us feel at home. Huge thanks to Olga Tsokalo at the front desk; she was amazing! She didn't just check us in—she walked us all the way to our room and shared some killer tips on getting around the city without getting lost. The location couldn't be better, right near all the big sights. Our room was spotless and super comfy, the perfect spot to crash after a long day exploring. We loved the amenities too, especially the sauna—it was just what we needed to unwind. Breakfast was a highlight: tons of fresh, delicious choices that kept us going all morning. All in all, the Grand Hotel Wien nails that mix of old-school elegance, cozy vibes, and top-notch service. It's perfect for Vienna, and we'd totally stay here again next time we're in town. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, elegant, great spa facilities and good food from the bar/restaurant on the ground floor. Also very close to the opera, a perfect location. I haven’t given the hotel full points for one big reason - we ordered a cab at the front desk to take us to the airport. They had confirmed very clearly that it’s on the meter and we pay by card. Something went very wrong as there was no meter and the cab was over 70 EUR, double our journey coming in. And only cash. And we had no time to find another cab as we had a flight to catch! There wasn’t a functioning nearby ATM at the airport which caused a very hostile situation with the cab driver. We were not safe with him (he was aggressive) and we were also worried we’d miss our flight trying to find a functioning ATM (accosted by the cab driver..) The hotel has to take accountability for this having taken the booking. It’s such a shame as the front desk had been so friendly and attentive during our stay and this has really marred the experience.

It is a beautiful and grand hotel. The staff was wnderful and helpful. Housekeeping needs to be better supervised. Hotels of this grade (Over 750 euros a night) usually have a person who checks out the room after housekeeping is finished. The carpets were not well vacuumed. A piece of paper which was dropped on the floor befor we left in the morning was still on the floor in the afternoon. The used bar of soap was on the sink counter and not thrown away or replaced. The beds were made in a way I have never seen (we had a king bed with two conforters, when we returned the comforters were folded with 2/3 of the bed covered with one conforter and 1/3 with the othe)r. There are no USB ports in the room and no electric outlets near the bed. You have to move the night table. Finally, there are 4 english news stations, no english entertainment stations yet 15 arabic stations. Is this a message that the hotel is not interested in English speaking guests. The spa was excellent and provided a wonderful facial.

I have stayed in the Grand Hotel several times over the last couple years. But also in the Bristol, Ritz, Sacher, Ambassador, Hilton. I have a personal affinity to the Grand but honestly, it needs a serious makeover. Nothing really wrong, just getting long in the tooth so to say. Really like the buffet breakfast!
