Originally the residence of the Prince of Württemberg, the Hotel Imperial showcases the romance of 19th-century Vienna. This member of The Starwood Luxury Collection is located on the magnificent Ring Boulevard, and its interior is a wonderland of hand-carved statues and spectacular crystal chandeliers. Expressing the elegance of yesteryear, bedrooms are cocooned in silk, and breathtaking Royal Suites exude an aristocratic flair. Furthering the indulgence is Imperial Restaurant, with its feasts for the senses, and Café Imperial, immersing you in the cityâ€(TM)s beloved coffeehouse tradition.

Our recent experience at the Hotel Imperial Vienna was exceptional in every way possible. The physical beauty, historic touches at every glance are grand but not imposing. But the real value lies ahead in the attention and kindness if the unexpected occurs. On our first day in the inner city an impatient man pushed me off the curb onto the cobblestone street. Luckily nothing was broken but I sustained a serious injury to my arm. The hotel sprang into action sending a competent physician to our suite who referred me to Vienna’s trauma hospital. I was treated and released back to the supreme comfort of the hotel and our new friends. Over the next 2 weeks we saw the true soul of the hotel, enjoying most of our meals at the divine Cafe Imperial or room service and of course, the legendary bar. The magnificent Concierge team and front desk staff and the doormen who carefully selected taxis to our visits to the hospital are unmatched in their professionalism and thoughtfulness to everyone. Aside from my situation we particularly enjoyed interacting with other guests especially at breakfast and in the bar. We were certainly not the only ones being pampered! Our room was a dream, we loved the cavernous bathroom, sumptuous linens, and exquisite touches such as beautiful paintings and chandeliers, and of course, the housekeeping and room service! Perfection at every turn. Our profound thanks to all.

Superficially this is a glamorous hotel with a wonderful history. Unfortunately once beyond the foyer the rooms are shabby- old dusty curtains, grubby carpets, peeling laminate, rotting window frames and ineffective air conditioning! The saving grace of the hotel is the staff who are both helpful and friendly. I would not stay here again or recommend it . This was not a five star experience !

This hotel is a gem. Fantastic location next to Karls Kirche and Wien Musikverein where they play the famous New Years Concert. Classical, impressive, friendly, outstanding service and attention to detail. Even though this is an old building, it still feels fresh and clean. Our bed, duvet and sheets was easily top 5 I've experienced. When in such a historical city, why would anyone choose a contemporary hotel that all feel the same? We just came from Mandarin Oriental in Milan, with INSANE prices. This, honestly, feels just as nice - if not nicer, and like a bargain at a quarter of the price. True value for money. Usually, I like to try new hotels every time I come back a place, but next time, I'll head straight back here. This is home in Vienna. Highly recommended!

The Hotel Imperial in Vienna was intended to be the end of our 26 day honeymoon. We booked our stay in February for a mid-May stay. They lost our room reservation, lost our high tea reservation and we did not get high tea, they charged us a no-show fee because they made a mistake on the reservation and offered absolutely no help to correct the error. The room had chipped peeling paint, the furnituire scratched and chandelier broken. When we wrote the hotel about our issues, their response was sorry and we will make it good if you come back to Vienna. We live in the USA and the honeymoon was a once in a lifetime, especially since we are 71 and 82 years old respectively. No other offer to make things right. This hotel has only two things going for it, location and past glory. Stay at the Ritz for location because Imeprial's glory has long since faded. Seriously, a roadside motel would have given us a better room and service.

As Las Vegas locals, we know hospitality and our standards are almost unreasonably lofty for most hotels to exceed. Well, if you are ready to be blown away, book the Hotel Imperial in Vienna. Exceptional hospitality is defined by attention to detail and our experience began with the doorman, who warmly welcomed my daughter and I upon arrival one rainy Tuesday afternoon in June 2025. Every staff member spoke perfect English and we were delighted to find that the location of this luxurious, historic former palace is mere steps away from every attraction we desired. Shopping? Across the street, less than one full minute door to door. The famous opera house? A mere five minutes and you can see it from the entrance to the hotel. Drinks and snacks after the opera? Savor them in the exquisite bar delivered with friendly, personal customer service that will have you falling in love with the Austrians who make Vienna so special. Our deluxe king room was suite-level spacious, with a deep and long tub that would have accommodated an NBA star. The closet area could have held a month’s wardrobe, and the WiFi was comparable to the speed we are spoiled with in Las Vegas. Luggage delivery is swift and turn down service is luxurious, complete with bedside slippers and petit four on your pillow. The beds are somehow firm and feather soft at the same time, with bedding that made me contemplate changing my bedding back home. At the last minute the front desk was able to book us for hair and makeup before the opera at a salon that was comparably excellent. It is a triumph to find a hotel so well run, where every team member was an expert in the details. The top ten hotels in the world title was earned by the Hotel Imperial team and we will most certainly be back.
