Originally the residence of the Prince of Württemberg, the Hotel Imperial showcases the romance of 19th-century Vienna. This member of The Starwood Luxury Collection is located on the magnificent Ring Boulevard, and its interior is a wonderland of hand-carved statues and spectacular crystal chandeliers. Expressing the elegance of yesteryear, bedrooms are cocooned in silk, and breathtaking Royal Suites exude an aristocratic flair. Furthering the indulgence is Imperial Restaurant, with its feasts for the senses, and Café Imperial, immersing you in the cityâ€(TM)s beloved coffeehouse tradition.

Wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Beautiful place. One of the staff, Ilker, helped me so much and made sure I was comfortable during my entire stay. I deeply appreciate his assistance. The other staff are also warm, helpful and friendly. Overall amazing experience.

Stay at the ritz. These guys don’t know hospitality. I don’t know what up with them but the my think the are above Marriott brand. I paid the same as ritz here and the experience at ritz was amazing.

MY TECENT EXPERIENCE Fewer and fewer reasons to visit the Lounge Bar: # You can no longer reserve a table # Certain champagnes are only available by the bottle now. # The bass in the background music, as an expert confirmed to me, is far too loud, making it unpleasant. # Warm drinks such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate are only available until five in the afternoon (!) This is probably also why the Lounge Bar is almost empty during prime time. If you ask the (friendly) restaurant manager about some of these points, she replies, as she did months ago, that she will pass it on.

While the staff at the Hotel Imperial were friendly, the overall experience was a disappointment. So, this is a 3 star review instead of 2 stars purely because of the staff. For a hotel this price and as part of the Marriot "Luxury Collection", the air conditioning barely worked and the rooms were very hot. In the room we were in, the shower alternated between freezing and scorching- all with low water pressure. The hotel is stately, beautiful, but it just is sub par for HVAC and plumbing. Also, and this is an argument with both the hotel and Marriott, we were offered two room rates when booking on the Marriott website- one with breakfast and one without. We chose the one that included breakfast for an additonal 60 euros per night. Then, at check in, we were offered breakfast for free as Bonvoy members and then the check in person laughed and said we wouldn't need the free breakfast because we already paid extra for breakfast in the room rate. So, basically, we paid 60 euros per night for 5 nights for a breakfast that would have been free with a cheaper room rate. I have been arguing with Marriott for over a week about this and they refuse to do anything about it. Their answer is I picked a room rate with breakfast and I did get breakfast. That is true. But, if I had picked the room rate that was 60 euros less, I still would have gotten breakfast. So- BUYER BEWARE- check before you book about whether your breakfast is included. Had I asked, I would have saved 300 euros!! In my defense, there was NO indication on the Marriott website that breakfast would be included in the lower room rate. I have stayed at many Marriott properties in many places and always check "rate details" and have seen breakfasts or club level access included (or not) and it absolutely was not listed as included in the other rates. I should have argued about the room rate at check in. Lesson learned. I will no longer trust the Marriott rates posted on their website. Ironically, it's hard to talk to a live person for a Marriott reservation and what customer service told me about this transaction is that it was all my fault because I booked online instead of calling in. Of course, I had to go through a long series of automated menus to get to talk to a live person about the issue. It's a joke. What a shame. As I said, lovely people working at this hotel but this whole experience has left me with a bad feeling about this hotel and Marriott in general- that after being a decades long Marriott customer.

The Hapsburg history of the hotel was fascinating and you felt almost royal staying there. We were there on our 40th anniversary and the hotel upgraded our room to a suite which was extra special! The concierge and the front doorman were all extremely nice and helpful. The location was very convenience to walking into the main square of Vienna. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
