Hotel Sacher Vienna is one of the world’s great luxury hotels in one of Europe’s most culturally significant cities: the birthplace of psychoanalysis and a city of musicians, artists, philosophers and architects. Our famous guests have included John F. Kennedy, Indira Gandhi and Queen Elizabeth. We are proud of our history and our location, and true to our traditions.

To stay at the Hotel Sacher is a charming and unique experience. The friendly and obliging reception and concierge staff were marvellous but the best experience is the buffet breakfast served in the most exquisite rooms. It is the best buffet breakfast I have ever encountered.

I stayed at Hotel Sacher Vienna on August 18, 2023. I lost my passport at Schönbrunn Palace, and the hotel staff kindly retrieved it. I truly appreciate that effort. However, they never informed me after recovery. As a result, I went to the police and embassy unnecessarily, missed my flight, lost €1,500, and had to purchase a new ticket and pay for an extra night (~€1,700 total). The hotel denied negligence and refused any further discussion or compensation. Just one phone call would have prevented this situation. Very disappointing for an international luxury hotel.

Hugely disappointed with the Sachertorte. The sponge was dry, brittle and tasted stale. The chocolate topping was matt rather than the expected gloss. At these prices, perfection should be guaranteed. Although the coffee was good, staff were attentive and the surroundings are grand, it is the Sachertorte we went for!

We reserved a table at Hotel Sacher Vienna to try their world-famous Sacher Torte, which was absolutely delicious and perfectly paired with a strong coffee. The elegant, traditional tea room provided a truly grand atmosphere, adding to the charm of the experience. Service was efficient and friendly throughout. It does get very busy, so booking ahead is highly recommended unless you’re prepared to join the long queues. A wonderful and iconic Viennese experience!

Bucket list hotel so decided to splurge. Location is great and if you're a resident then you can avoid the queues outside the cafe next door for mandatory sachertorte. You do feel a bit special walking though the doors and seeing the photos on the walls of the great and good who have preceded you and the staff are very friendly and helpful. First impressions of the room were lovely...very tastefully decorated and quite spacious. The first problem was trying to fill the bath. The hot water barely trickled out of the spout so after an hour of trying to fill it I had to call for assistance. The engineer was very helpful and managed to fix the issue so that the water would run properly. The next issue was the air conditioning or lack of. The engineer was called once again and concluded that it was working but just not effective so the best solution was so close curtains and blinds. We ended up having to take cold showers before bed and then barely sleeping which is not what you expect from £600 per night. I wouldn't stay again. It was a nice place but I expect things to be working when I'm paying that kind of money.
