Hotel Sacher Vienna is one of the world’s great luxury hotels in one of Europe’s most culturally significant cities: the birthplace of psychoanalysis and a city of musicians, artists, philosophers and architects. I truly enjoyed the cozy and classic ambiance of the café, which made for a lovely family evening. The only downside was the waiting time on Christmas Eve, which was approximately 1.5 hours—understandable given the holiday, yet still quite long. Unfortunately, the waiting experience could have been better managed. While we were in line, a couple joined the queue ahead of us by introducing themselves to others as if they were together, despite having entered and seated themselves separately. Having clearer queue controls or a ticketing system would help ensure a fair and more pleasant experience for all guests. As for the food, while the café is renowned for its chocolate cake, it wasn’t quite to my taste—I found it a bit dry and lacking in flavor. That said, preferences do differ, and many clearly enjoy it. I can’t recall the exact pricing, but overall, it was a warm and cozy dinner with family, and the atmosphere itself made the visit memorable.

The Sacher is quite simply an exceptional hotel. Our room was just right in all respects, enough space to move around and settle. The staff were cheerful, kind and efficient. The concierge staff were great, particularly the junior concierge Emma, who worked on us and made excellent recommendations and handled everything. Overall we would stay there again, it was a comfortable place to unwind which was the most important and decisive factor.

An iconic luxury hotel offering refined rooms and impeccable service. Staying here feels like stepping into Viennas rich history.

Nice but a few problems - The hotel is small and it can be very difficult to make bar and restaurant reservations. Our luxury room with a view was small with not much of a view. The room was very expensive in December. Quality of food in the Rote Bar was VERY POOR. Staff always polite and helpful but the entrance area is small and can be chaotic.

We returned home yesterday after a one-week stay at the Hotel Sacher. We have stayed at great hotels all over the world and definitely rank the Sacher as one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. We reserved a junior suite and were upgraded to the Nussknacker Suite (I don't know what category that suite falls into.) It was large and well-appointed. Every member of the hotel staff with whom we interacted was uniformly helpful, welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We had a wonderful dinner at the Rote Bar restaurant pre-opera one night that was also first-rate. The fitness center is small but good and we used the sauna/steam/relaxation area almost daily, again it was a very nice touch and added to the enjoyment of our stay. We look forward to returning to the Sacher and also hopefully to staying at the Sacher in Salzburg in a year.
