The rooftop views are nice... but the design of the space is more of a 2* hotel quality. Very disappointing and unexpected at a Ritz ! The hotel's groundfloor Bar - next to steak restaurant & with some outdoor seats facing the beautiful Ringstrasse - is lovely and has a great staff. Outdoor seats need back cushions for a bit more comfort.

We are from Vienna and on a very warm morning we decided to go for breakfast somewhere in the inner city. I have had many outstanding breakfasts in Ritz-Carltons all around the USA and as we saw that the restaurant was nearly empty - it was around 9.30 in the morning - we decided to give it a try. To our surprise the waiter said that there is no free table (I have to say that I was dressed in cargo shorts and a polo shirt). Just for fun after we went outside I did call the restaurant and asked for a table and of course they had one. Instead of going back in and looking for a bit of embarrassment we went to the Hyatt and had a wonderful breakfast with great service!

As someone who has stayed at multiple Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis properties, I’ve come to expect a certain level of service, hospitality, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this particular stay fell far below those expectations and was easily the worst Ritz-Carlton experience I’ve had. Upon arrival, there was no staff at the entrance to assist with luggage or even greet us. After waiting for nearly five minutes, someone finally appeared. At check-in, there was no acknowledgment of my Gold membership, no mention of possible room upgrades, preferences, or even a simple welcome, which was disappointing, even though I understand upgrades are not guaranteed but not even been greeted has happened for the first time. Housekeeping was inconsistent and careless. No one cleaned the room on our first day until we called and requested it. Even then, cleaning supplies were left behind in the bathroom. On the second day, housekeeping arrived just as we were returning. They asked us to wait for 10 minutes, so we waited in a nearby rest area near the lift. A staff member approached and asked if we were staying in the suite. When I said no, she questioned why we were waiting there and told us she would check if the room could be cleaned sooner. The tone felt dismissive, as if we weren’t welcome in that space. Ultimately, we followed her and waited in our room while the cleaning staff left mid-task. They later returned but forgot their cloth in the room. Throughout the stay, no one at the entrance ever greeted us when we entered or exited the hotel. Inside, staff seemed disengaged and indifferent completely out of character for a Ritz-Carlton, where personalized service is usually a hallmark. To top it off, the receptionist at checkout was loudly speaking, almost shouting while finalizing our departure. The tone and volume were jarring and unprofessional. After staying at several Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis properties around the world, this is the only stay I would describe as a truly poor experience. It lacked warmth, service, and the signature hospitality that defines the brand. A serious letdown.

Just completed a five day stay with my wife. Wonderful service and ambience. Rooftop bar has great view and friendly staff. We were especially impressed with the concierge Rainer who went out of his way and helped us plan out our trip and especially obtain tickets to the opera, which should not be missed, and organize a day trip to Salzburg.
