Reviews for The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna

Absolutely Brilliant!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Ritz Carlton in Vienna is the absolute best! The location is perfect to walk into the city centre and amenities are excellent. We made full use of the hotel including dining at Pastamara where we had great service and faultless food and wine. The bar was brilliant , and whilst not necessary the head barman offered us an aperitif as the bar was busy and we had a short wait. This is a great example of how attentive the team are at the Ritz Carlton Vienna. Lastly, and the most important mentions must go out to the Club Lounge team who go beyond expectations. On checking in, we were offered one of the best upgrades we have had in our travels. A sincere thank you!!! Ahead of arriving the club team arranged visits for us and great advice on where and how to get the best of our time in the city. A highlight for us is they booked a private Waltz lesson, which was a memory that will always last with us. Again thank you for organising this and the little gifts in our room when we returned. So thoughtful!!! You have set the highest standards for The Ritz Carlton group. Anyone looking to stay in Vienna, and who wouldn’t as it’s one of the most beautiful, safe, spotlessly clean and fun place to visit don’t hesitate and book a room here!!!

Could be perfect…..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The positive: beautiful property, staff were exceptional, particularly in the restaurant and front desk (with the exception of the night manager and plug situation below). Really great service. Food was top notch at the restaurant breakfast. The issue we had was that the toilet was broken, drains wouldn’t drain. They tried to fix it but there was a horrible sewage smell that permeated the room, they could not seem to remedy this. To be fair they comped us our meals as an apology which was nice but they really need to fix the plumbing and probably should have moved us to a new room. Second issue was there are no North American plugs in the rooms, this is odd for a five star Ritz hotel, we called down to get a plug around 10:30pm and they told us they were all out and the stores were closed. Due to dead laptop and phone I was unable to get any work done and attend critical zoom calls. The next day I had to remind them about the plug situation and they managed to find one. Could be perfect if they had resolved these issues by moving us and having appropriate equipment for business travellers.

Where hospitality truly shines.

Since the moment we arrived at The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, our trip has been nothing short of wonderful. We were warmly welcomed by the amazing staff at the Club Level—each of them so friendly and professional. Special thanks to Laura Rappold, Club Lounge Supervisor, and Paloma Settino, Club Lounge Ambassador, who were attentive, helpful, and incredibly kind. The Club itself is one of the finest we have experienced—not only because of its beautiful design and ambience, but also thanks to the thoughtful amenities and offerings. The food has been absolutely spectacular, to the point where it was impossible for us to even consider dining outside the hotel. To our surprise and delight, we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Andreas, Club Lounge Supervisor. He is exceptionally talented, highly professional, approachable, and generous with his time—sharing with us stories about his journey and experiences as a chef. His passion shines through in every dish he creates, each one truly remarkable. We also had the opportunity to visit the gym, and on our way there I met Nata Bozhko, a wonderfully kind receptionist. In nearly 30 years of visiting luxury hotels and spas, I’ve often found that staff, while polite, can sometimes feel distant. Nata was the complete opposite—warm, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive. She even assisted me with products and thoughtfully surprised me with a few gifts, making my experience all the more special. I am deeply grateful for her kindness. On our last day, after a workout, we returned to the Club Level for breakfast and, by chance, had the wonderful opportunity to meet Ned Capeleris, General Manager of the hotel. He is truly an outstanding leader—generous with his time, open in sharing his journey in the world of hospitality, and genuinely attentive to our words. He made us feel valued and welcome. It was a truly memorable encounter, one we’ve only experienced twice before in our lives: once at the Four Seasons in Florence, and now here in Vienna at The Ritz-Carlton. In my opinion, all General Managers should aspire to lead as he does. His character and leadership are clearly reflected in his team, who embody the same warmth and professionalism. To everyone at The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna—well done! You are a model of what true hospitality should be. We wish you continued success and an incredible journey ahead in this world of hospitality.

Exactly what a Ritz should be; Elegance and understated luxury well located in Vienna

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

High expectations on this trip were met in spades by the team at the Ritz Carlton Vienna. As the city itself is so beautiful it’s actually one of those cities with a significant amount of luxury options to choose from. We chose the Ritz Carlton (I like Marriott and am an Ambassador) location was good and we didn’t have too much planned, so we thought to try the Club level. We were pleasantly surprised by what we got out of this RC. The Hard product itself was very nice, while the building is historic very old it is extremely well maintained with a somewhat modern touch in the common areas and the room (little things like automated blackouts and shades). Check-in was a breeze as we were met very kindly by the front office manager Jasper who accompanied us up to the club lounge, and eventually took us all the way to our room explaining about the hotel, the history and much about the city as well. The lounge itself was elegant. It had a living room like feel. Both the service and the food on the Club level were memorable. And even more than that, every single thing we had in the hotel from a food and beverage perspective was exceptional. Every day breakfast at the Club lounge was spectacular. They focused on quality over quantity, and you can notice it in everything from the homemade bread to the fresh squeezed orange juice. Each one of the simply prepared dishes was exception. If you go, make sure to try The Austrian pancakes. My only regret is that I discovered them more towards the end of our trip. So many people were nice and helpful, it would be difficult to recognize them all but: Laura and Paloma in the club made every day special and helped us with every single thing we needed, including reservations, Transportation and check out. Both very pleasant and very helpful. Andreas the chef made our morning twice as he explained to us the processes that they go through to make their food so fresh and unique for their guests. It was a real pleasure talking to him and seeing the pride he takes in his art. Finally, Ned the GM stopping by to check in and share some of his story was a very nice and memorable touch. From start to finish I’d say this team has it down. Hard product is solid, a quiet luxury with modern touches. The soft product is even better with the team who remembers your name. It makes you feel like you’re coming home to a special place every day. Next time we’re in Vienna, we know where we’ll be staying .
