Walking into the hotel lobby of the Fairmont Orchid, was like walking on to a movie set. It was absolutely beautiful. From the first day the entire staff was so attentive and made sure we were all comfortable. They were especially accommodating to my elderly parents with mobility issues. We stayed in the south tower, 1 ocean view and one garden view room. The rooms are large and very nice, comfortable beds and pillows. Nice bathrooms with the nicest complimentary lotion, shampoo and conditioner. My mom liked the lotion so much I bought her some from the Fairmont Store (online). The food in every restaurant that we ate in was incredible. There are 5 restaurants and a deli. The resort grounds are so beautiful with so many types of birds and flowers we have never seen before. Can't say enough about the service throughout the resort, from the front desk to the valet parking staff, to the servers, and housekeeping. Special thanks to Mgr Eden Haber. She was so caring and considerate and went above and beyond when a couple things went awry, she made them right with little gifts, and followed up with us to make sure we were ok. Another person we'd like to thank is Shannel the concierge. She helped us to arrange a spectacular helicopter ride, as well as answering my 100 questions, before we even got there. My only complaint is that we weren't able to stay longer.

Wonderful vacation spot on the beach with a large pool. Lovely rooms with large bathroom. Excellent service. Giving a shout out to Maria at front desk, bell/guest service team Katelynne, Dave, Kenny, Paul, Joe etc. They remember and appreciate return guests. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus service to the small shopping mall and immediate properties. I have stayed many times and it's always consistently wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Always our #1 place to stay for amazing views, excellent service, comfortable and clean accommodations, delicious and varied food options, location to golf and snorkeling and beaches. The Fairmont Orchid wasn’t for us mainly due to the size of the hotel. It’s a massive resort offering a nice location on the beach and only 30minutes from the airport. As Diamond members of Accor we found the Fairmont to be average in offering all the benefits. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable and we found the staff servicing it to be excellent. Restaurants - always busy and having to make reservations every day was annoying. Breakfast was the worst as we waited over 15 minutes everyday for a table. Bars - trying to get a table for an afternoon sunset drink was again a nightmare due to no tables available. We also found drinking wine out of a paper cup to be very ordinary. Swimming pool - large but shallow. There were plenty of deck chairs thankfully 😅. The beach was lovely to swim in and was the highlight of the hotel for us.

The hotel was gorgeous!!! Beautiful location, but especially the staff were fantastic! All of them were so warm-hearted and welcoming and willing to help, in particular the front desk staff. I hardly ever met such a competent and kind team. But the whole hotel was so wonderful. The gardens were overwhelmingly beautiful as well as the views. Our room was equipped with so many little details that made the stay so very special. Thanks to the Fairmont Orchid, we had unforgettable days on Big Island. If I could, I would give this hotel 10 stars!!!
