Legendary Spot for Food, Relaxing, and Recharging

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We took three other couples from our little firm to celebrate 15 years as a company. It was an incredible visit; personally, our third one, and I continue to feel so thankful this property exists and has people so committed to excellence and hospitality. We stayed at The Guest House, which is a great option if you're traveling with other people. We'd brought Code Names and a deck of cards and had a blast playing games and munching on the complimentary snacks in the common area after dinner at Dogwood on our second night. The rooms are super cozy and very conveniently located to the central areas on the property, you can easily walk to the Spa/Fitness at Wellhouse, to the Boathouse and to the Main House/Dogwood for meals. Technology-wise this property is old school, they've installed plenty of charging plugs near the bed but clocks are old school and you won't find any Lutron lighting systems. ;) We think it's charming though and helpful in truly unplugging/relaxing. I agree with another reviewer that the staff at the Barn wasn't quite as sharp/well trained as the people at the Main House and Dogwood. Not everyone, just a few young folks that maybe didn't fit in such a fine dining environment. Otherwise everyone was incredibly friendly and eager to please. Be sure to ask for a tour of their mind blowing and award winning wine cellar, they will accommodate you if they can! Bring your stretchy pants, meals are incredible. Don't miss lunch either...some of my most favorite things were at lunch! It was a delight to eat the delicious veggies from the farm and gorge ourselves on all the homemade breads and rolls. It's a delightful blend of a cruise mindset ("YES you can have three main courses if you want,") but also such thoughtful and beautiful food. Truly a lifetime high to eat at Blackberry Farm for three days. And also, three nights is perfect. Two would leave you wanting more, you're about ready to go home after three days of multi course eating. Ha. At least my (non stretchy hard) pants were telling me so. Couldn't recommend this resort more highly, bring your family if you can and soak up this gorgeous property and their wonderful hospitality!

Enjoyed our 3 nights and all food!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Felt the property was lovely overall and that the 3 nights were just enough time for us. Shared a cottage with my daughter which had some details needing addressed especially at such a high price point paid. Make-up mirror broken (but replaced), clock battery dead, throw blanket soiled, sparse bath salts for 2 females and no makeup wipes. The meals were amazing throughout the property but we particularly enjoyed The Dogwood. The staff well-trained and the food was outstanding. Also felt the environment nicer and more “polished” than The Barn. The Barn was good but staff less polished and “heavy footed” walking in this larger space was felt when seated at the tables. Lighting was also darker. Breakfast and lunch also did not disappoint. The spa was enjoyed but you do pay handsomely for extras. An 80 min massage service adds up to $421 with all fees at check-out. It was a nice one-time visit for us.

Serene and tranquil

Enjoyed our time at blackberry farms . The property is beautiful and serene when you truly need a get away . The staff are very nice and accommodating and make effort to know your name . The room was quiet and stocked with coffee tea and snacks . My friends had a cottage and also had fridge drinks and small selection of alcohol Spa services were amazing .i had pat for a facial and she had greater than 20 years of experience. The property is hilly and not always an easy walk to the different buildings .. one can rent a golf cart or call for rides as needed The price though is pretty steep and there is a service charge, taxes and fees which contribute to about 30 % more so be prepared at check out. While it is nice that they don’t expect gratuity since that is part of fees it would be nice to be able to give extra to staff who, made an impact in their service . Children are welcome on property but they do place families in a separate dining room in the dogwood if that is important in your trip planning Sadly we did have our trip disrupted by another guest who was rude and spewing foul language but understand that was out of the property’s control .

Ours was a business and couples retreat. It was exceptional on many levels. Would highly recommend for a similar experience. Nothing to think about, everything was taken care of without exception. Recommend the farm tour. Above my expectations.

Awesome stay, world class service and hospitality

We had such an amazing time at the BlackBerry Farms. From the time we stepped into the property we were treated with smiles and like family. We loved our stay at the main house, it was so convenient to just walk down to the Dogwood for breakfast and lunch. The bar is beautiful and the drinks are awesome. I had a mezcal based drink with was amazing. Sitting outside with the view of the grounds and mountains brings one such peace and joy. The grounds are beautiful and we walked all over. The boat house and the Yallerhammer were so quaint. Wished we gad more time there and would have loved a quiet lunch at the Yallerhaller. All you can hear are the birds chirping and the stream flowing. The dinner at the Barn was beautiful orchestrated, from the time you step out of the property Lexus that drives you there to the person greeting you and till the time you leave. It flows like music. The staff is so friendly and enthusiastic. The food was amazing too! We did a yoga session at the well house and had massages too. I love both those experiences. Even though it’s expensive, I can totally see why people go back. Like another visitor said- for them there isn’t any “No” in the dictionary and everyone goes out of the way to make the experience there a memorable one! We toured the Blackberry Mountain also, with the views of snow capped smoky mountains from there, can’t wait to stay there sometime soon too!
