Conrad Washington DC

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Conrad Washington, DC in mid-August for a quick overnight trip. The purpose of our visit was to take our son to see the Harry Potter production at the National Theater, and since our schedule didn’t allow for dining out, we booked a room on the Sakura Club level for its convenience, incredible array of amenities, and elevated experience. Before our arrival, I received a thoughtful message from the Sakura Club concierge team asking about the purpose of our stay and offering assistance. I mentioned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and taking our son to the theater—but I had no idea how beautifully they would weave that into our experience. When we arrived, our room was immaculate, and waiting for us was a stunning anniversary cake accompanied by a warm welcome note from the general manager. On the desk, an envelope addressed to our son caught his eye. He eagerly opened it to find a personalized invitation for a pre-show adventure, directing us to the restaurant at a specific time where a magical surprise awaited. At the appointed hour, we headed down and were greeted with housemade butterbeer (a delightful nod to Harry Potter) for our son and two glasses of champagne for us. The bartender was charming, and we enjoyed a lovely chat before heading back upstairs to get ready for the show. The surprises didn’t end there. When we returned to our room after the performance, our son discovered a plush Harry Potter robe and a sweet note from the staff. It was clear the team had orchestrated every detail with care and creativity, making us feel truly seen and celebrated. This brief stay turned into something unforgettable—our son was absolutely delighted and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. We’re deeply grateful to the Sakura Club concierge team, especially Tierney, Tom, Ruth, and Alejandra, for crafting what is sure to be a cherished core memory for our child. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail made our visit magical in every sense.

We have been to this hotel 3 previous times and keep coming back. This time my wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary and we were treated incredibly well. From the moment we checked in to the incredible Sakura experience. We stayed in a Park Suite room and it was huge with large windows looking out onto the CityCentre fountain. The staff in the Sakura lounge (great breakfast, drinks, snacks, and dinners included) are always amazing and I want to recognize Darryl (Sakura manager) who sent us an incredible bouquet of flowers and was warm and friendly. Also, Mimi in the club who we have seen each time we have been there is by far the most amazing and welcoming member of the team. She is one of the many reasons we plan to go back again later this year. My only complaint about this room is that you can hear everything in the next room due to the adjoining door and of course we had a screaming child next to us which we could hear in the living area most times of the day. Luckily there are separate doors to the bedroom which once closed were extremely quiet and contributed to a great sleep.

I stayed at the Conrad Washington DC and really enjoyed the experience. The room was spacious, luxurious, and in a great location. The lobby design is very cool, though I could hear some noise from it while in my room. They use Byredo toiletries, which smell amazing, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also excellent—definitely a highlight of the stay.

Darryl sets a tone of happiness and hospitality the moment you enter the Sakura Club. His enthusiasm for living well and spreading happiness is infectious. Just when you think you could not feel more welcome, Mimi delivers service at an unanticipated level of care and comfort. Their professionalism is only surpassed by their passion to make your stay truly memorable. Without a doubt, our celebratory visit to DC will not be soon forgotten and the moments spent relaxing and refreshing in the Sakura Club were an unexpected bonus. Thank you Darryl and Mimi and all the team at the Sakura Club. We look forward to our next visit to DC and returning to the “home away from home” you provided during our visit. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Conrad this past weekend. From the time we valet parked our car to our checkout, we were thrilled with our experience. The individuals at the check in desk were personable and took some time to get to know us. As we waited for our elevator, the concierge Julee chatted with us and couldn't be more helpful with meal recommendations and having a little fun with us being Phillies fans and she was a Nats fan. Our time on the Rooftop was fantastic with wonderful drinks and the host checked in on us as we sat there. Lastly, our breakfast was delicious - and our server was attentive. I was so impressed with his suggestion of the Cherry Blossom Green Tea that I bought some online before I even left the restaurant. My husband and I both used the word impeccable every time we mentioned our experience. Well done Conrad!
