The Dupont Circle

My recent stay at the Royal Sonesta Dupont Circle was okay, but the customer service left me a bit disappointed. When I went down for breakfast on my first morning, the gentleman working seemed unsure of my room and name, even after I told him which made the interaction feel a little uncomfortable. When checking out, I learned that breakfast was not included. I mentioned this politely, but the response I received — “In this day and age, did anyone tell you breakfastwas included?” — came across as dismissive rather than helpful. The hotel itself is lovely, but I wish the staff interactions had felt warmer and more welcoming. A little kindness and clear communication would have made the stay much better.

The service is the star of this Hotel. Everyone was very attentive and the requested service was always fast. The rooms were clean and kept clean as the cleaning people came around 4-5 times a day. Parking is scarce around the hotel, so valet was used. Valet is not cheap by any means, but the service was great and you didn't wait long for your car to be brought up to the front. Doormen were excellent.

We loved our stay at The DuPont Circle! The hotel staff went above and beyond, especially Eric. The bar and restaurant were also top notch.

We stayed four nights at the DuPont Hotel, DC for our grandson's 10th birthday trip. Door staff, desk, concierge, room service were all excellent, making special efforts to ensure that everything was taken care of: quick valet of the car multiple times; extra water for the room; a dinner reservation with an introduction to the restaurant owner. Room service and turndown service were impeccable. A snack in the bar area facing the DuPont circle was memorable. Two issues hamper the best review: 1) our room faced the DuPont circle and at night, on Friday and Saturday, there was yelling, fighting or other disruption and noise outside that kept us awake between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM, we realize that it's probably out of the control of the property but it definitely extracted a price from our rest; 2) the Pembroke breakfast was very tasty but service was non-existent, like it was a different property, forgotten orders and we were abandoned at the table. . . opt for breakfast across the street out of the back door. But you will love the kind door and room staff.

Hotel location is far from main attractions a lot of construction and so many beggars biggest disappointment was the parking fee $65 + tax a night beware they do not forewarn you and for this alone I do not recommend this hotel
