InterContinental Washington DC - The Wharf

Beautiful place to celebrate my mother's 72 birthday. Chose the Willowsong for her birthday dinner. The food great but the service was exceptional. Special thanks to Gisela Lema-Torres and Jose Aleman for ensuring we were attended too.

We had an amazing staycation to celebrate my husband’s birthday!! Khan the concierge made him feel very celebrated and added lots of special touches that elevated the experience. I really appreciated his detailed and responsive customer service as I planned it!! Awesome hotel, pool, and food. Highly recommend!!

I don’t even know how to begin this… IHG has been part of a corporate account I had during my days in Marketing and I have always loved staying with them. I had an inactive personal account because we always use our Hilton Honors or use Shangri-la during our holidays. I offered my sister’s family to try IHG AS I remembered how the hotels were great in Europe and Asia and haven’t tried them in the US so I booked them for 3 days. So to speak, everything went smoothly except that… while I was checking everyone in, my sister and her kids decided to go around and sat at the front seat in the hotel to which this guy sent them off saying that they cannot sit on the the seats in front of the hotel as it was private. So they went back in embarrassed that they were sent off from there. Could they not have asked first if they were guests? Next is that we had an issue on the rooftop where we just wanted to see what is up on the rooftop and this same guy did not even explain graciously and had sparring words with my brother in law. They should put a sign that says the rooftop is booked if they dont want anyone to step on the deck instead of embarrassing guests. I mean such a huggggggeeee contrast to how Hilton honors their guests. We just checked out from a Hilton hotel where the concierge even went beyond to just show us even if their property is closed and IHG’s supposed main rigger had to call in security. I mean maybe I remembered it incorrectly but what a terrible terrible experience and I was truly embarrassed by what my sister’s family experienced. No words. Please train your staff.

We had a wonderful stay, and a huge part of that was thanks to Erinn at the front desk. From the moment we checked in, he made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Erinn went above and beyond to make our stay special, friendly, professional, and full of thoughtful touches that made all the difference. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, but it was Erinn’s outstanding service that truly set this experience apart. We’ll definitely be back thank you, Erinn!
