My wife and I came to Washington D.C. for a wedding among lifelong friends. The Intercontinental is possibly the most posh and accommodating hotel I have ever stayed in. A special thanks to Ben, Baraki and Aziz in the lobby staff and Preston at the rooftop pool bar for their efforts toward making our entire trip a memorable experience. The proximity of this hotel to all D.C. has to offer is perfect.

I stayed here during the middle of a heat wave so intense I half-expected the sidewalks to start bubbling. Thankfully, the hotel staff seemed determined not to let me melt—they constantly checked in to make sure I was hydrated. (I’ve never had so much water delivered to me without actually running a marathon.) The concierge (Shujaat Khan) deserves special mention: not only incredibly knowledgeable but also thoughtful—sending treats and wine to my room like some sort of hospitality fairy godmother. Every interaction came with a warm smile, which is no small feat when it’s 100+ degrees outside. Even the valet was impressive, somehow managing my car in the middle of total driveway chaos. Watching him work was like watching someone play real-life Tetris with SUVs. All in all, this hotel turned a sweltering stay into a cool experience. I’ll definitely be visiting again—hopefully in cooler weather, but if not, at least I know they’ll keep me from evaporating.

I enjoyed my stay, it was a wonderful location and a gorgeous hotel. I had no issues with staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the receptionist gave us water (it was very hot out). Even the valet drivers were helpful with directions of where to charge our electric vehicle. The concierge, Mr. Shujaat Khan, even went as far as to send treats to our room. The hotel is very walkable, nearby restaurants and shops all within 10 minutes depending on how far you want to go. I would absolutely come back to stay.

Excellent experience. All staff receive 5 star reviews. Especially concierge, Shujaat, who was extremely informative and helpful!

We are a retired couple who visited DC for 6 days with our 12-year-old grandson. We chose the InterContinental because it was close to the historical sites we wanted to visit yet far enough away to feel like we could get out of the hubbub. And, it has a pool. Turns out it was a perfect choice. First off, the location at the Wharf is great for morning coffee and breakfast, a broad array of evening meals, a diverse waterfront environment, and easy quick access to and from the National Mall via taxi/Uber. The hotel itself was excellent. Awesome staff all around, from front doormen, registration, restaurant and bar staff, and housekeeping. A special shout out to concierge Benjamin. He made excellent suggestions for activities not on your usual tourist list. The hotel itself is top notch. Roomy, well-designed, impeccably clean, and comfortable common areas, super comfortable beds, quiet AC, nice bathrooms, and speedy elevators. If we return to DC we will stay here again.
