Reviews for Park Hyatt Washington DC

Fabulous in every way

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Came here not long ago for a weekend away as a couple and came again for a medical conference this past weekend—so got to experience their event side this time. Just fabulous in every way. Amazing service at every turn, flawless really. The event staffing, food, drinks, bar, coffee stations—everything was meticulous and tasteful. The rooms r fabulous, the shower pressure great, and the service, again, just delightful. Kudos to an amazing hotel and staff.

Great and comfortable stay at very well-located property.

We came to DC for a wedding and chose to stay at the Park Hyatt since we were please with our past experiences at similar properties. The facility lived up to our expectations and we had a very comfortable and pleasent stay. The building interior is a bit dated and the fitness center is a bit small but otherwise we had a great experience. The location also made it easy to get to both the national mall and Georgetown.

Should be top 5 hotels in DC/Georgetown

We love this place. Excellent rooms. Walking distance to all the fun shops in Georgetown and to the Potomac. The restaurant inside this hotel (Blue Duck Tavern) is the best dinner we’ve had in DC over the years. The staff is very helpful and it’s safe.

Great restaurant team, but service hiccups and aging rooms hold this Park Hyatt back

Stay: 3 nights (1 booked on Hyatt + 2 via Amex FHR) We had a mixed experience at Park Hyatt Washington, D.C. The highlight was Blue Duck Tavern—we ate breakfast there three times and dinner once. Staff were consistently warm and attentive, and the food was excellent (we just wish breakfast had a few more savory options). Where the stay fell short was the front desk and in-room experience. Our split reservations seemed to confuse check-in; the associate was kind but unfamiliar with the procedure, and the supervisor who stepped in wasn’t particularly friendly. We received an FHR info sheet, but no clear explanation of Globalist benefits. Our room keys stopped working each afternoon, likely tied to the separate reservations. A simple heads-up could have prevented the surprise and the extra trip down to the front desk. Housekeeping also missed the window while we were out from late morning to mid-afternoon; when we asked for service after 6 pm (so we could rest for two hours), we were told service ends by 5 pm. Proactive communication here would have helped us plan. The facility feels dated: near room 810 there’s a wardrobe oddly placed outside the room and inside the room there’s a shelf serving as a nightstand. The bathroom setup doesn’t feel “5-star”—no separate toilet room and a combined shower/tub, and the closet is inside the bathroom. Gym access and wayfinding are also a bit awkward. Other than bottle water, we didn’t receive a welcome amenity for either Globalist or FHR. Location: The neighborhood is lovely and convenient for the National Mall, Dupont Circle, the Kennedy Center, and Georgetown—each within a ~30-minute walk or a short Uber ride. The closest Metro stop (Foggy Bottom–GWU) is about a 7–8 minute walk through safe, beautiful streets. Bottom line: Blue Duck Tavern shines. On the hotel side, while we enjoyed our stay, we also felt that clearer communication and some service training would go a long way.

Refined, quiet luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This hotel was amazing in every way. The ambience isn't completely reflected in the photos. I felt completely at ease. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Normally I bring my own pillow, but there was no need here! Bathrooms were immaculate. I always wipe down high-touch surfaces just in case and there wasn't a single sign of dirt. I stayed in a junior suite and it was perfect. Noise level was fine. There was some from traffic but only right at rush hour and may not even be worth mentioning. Highly recommend and so glad I chose this over other 5-star choices in the area.
