Park Hyatt Washington DC

An excellent stay in which the hotel anticipated my every need. I was actually happy to be grounded an extra day due to travel woes and cancelled flights. Can't wait to return!

Great and comfortable hotel in very nice location. Bed was super. Bathroom huge. My only downside is I prefer having a top sheet as well as a comforter.

Just an overall bad experience and definitely not the experience of a 5 star hotel. I don’t know if they’ve just been slipping slowly from what they used to be but as this was my first experience with the park Hyatt in dc it was def not a good one. It seemed like every time I made a request something about it was wrong. For example I ordered breakfast room service everyday I was there (4 days) and literally every time there was an item missing, all four days I had to call back just to get what I ordered. And that’s just one example. Just not good, like I went to the pendry at the wharf which is a similar price point and their service blows this hotel out of the water, it’s really night and day. The food was good but overpriced and the room and pool was decent but the service kinda ruined it. There was always something wrong.

Beautiful luxury hotel with helpful and friendly staff across all the stations. I felt very pampered even though I was only staying one night. I was able to check in early without even a mention. My room was large and well appointed with a wonderful shower and soaking tub. Very quiet and room darkening shades designed for sleep. Lots of easy access to charging throughout the room. Very expensive and very expensive to park but not out of line for the area.

For over 10 years this has been where I have stayed in DC. I have said it is one of my favourites- it has always been classy, friendly and boutique. I would have stayed a total of 10-15 times here. My last couple of stays set off a few thoughts that things were going downhill, but unfortunately this stay just made me so sad because this stay was just so disappointing. I stayed 6 nights in a junior suite- not cheap, full rates when the hotel was full. It's clear the room has not been updated for several years, the carpet was dirty and stained, the toilet did not flush, the coffee machine and hair dryer did not work, and on one or two occasions I came back after a full day out of engagements to find that the room had not been cleaned (at 4.30pm). The excuse was that they were busy with checkouts. I asked for turn down at 6pm. It used to be that the staff knew your name and greeted you by name, but no more. Noone had a clue and I was treated like an annoyance if I ever went to the front desk to ask anything. The room service was in inedible and delivered cold. I don't know if this hotel is just resting on its reputation and assuming that its loyal clients like me will put up with it. Or if it is just is being run down to downgrade the brand, but it certainly isn't the glamourous and boutique Park Hyatt I knew. I used to wax lyrically about this place and recommend it to everyone I knew who visited DC. Unfortunately I can't any more. Despite paying a heft price to stay there and despite multiple stays there, there was absolutely no recognition of past stays, with a "welcome back" letter or a little amenity. Most hotels with loyal return clients will do this, its not expected and I certainly did not need an amenity , but when it is not there, there is something wrong with the service. So sad - I wish I had stayed somewhere else
