Riggs Washington DC

My family recently stayed at The Riggs while we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff at the Riggs were always friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Garret and the other doormen always remembered us and welcomed us back each day and made sure we had what we needed, even making sure we got everything out of the Ubers we arrived in. The staff were also kind enough to deliver a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake to us on arrival day to celebrate our special occasion and even included a card. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and well kept. We really enjoyed the warm coziness of the rooms with tasteful decor and color instead of the sad beige rooms we've had at other hotels. It was also wonderful to see throwbacks to the time the building was a bank, like the room number plates that resemble safe deposit box plates. Everything was clean and the complimentary robes, slippers, umbrella, and reusable bag were very nice to have. I also have to talk about the onsite restaurant, Cafe Riggs. The food was absolutely delicious. A few of our favorites were the Shakshuka, the salmon toast, and the goat cheese tart. The coffee was also a highlight for us. It was rich but not bitter in the slightest and was easily one of the best cups of coffee we’ve had. The location of the hotel is also perfect, it's in central DC and is only a block from the metro station or a quick Uber to most anything in DC. The Riggs staff always made sure we had everything we needed and they made our anniversary so special. We have definitely found our home away from home in DC and will be returning whenever we are in town.

I was in town to run the Marine Corps Marathon and was looking for a hotel that was close to the yellow line Metro for race day. The Riggs was a block away. It’s close to the museums, tons of great restaurants, and the arena. The restaurant/bar downstairs was very busy all day. At night, there was always security in the lobby and it felt very secure. The staff was amazing. So nice and friendly! I don’t recall remembering a hotel stay for the staff, but this was an exception. The perfect mix of professional and personality. I’ll definitely stay at the Riggs again for my next visit to DC. This stay was even more sentimental because my grandfather worked his entire career at Riggs Bank and staying here made my trip just that much more special.

We had a fantastic stay at Riggs Hotel! As a former travel advisor, I would highly recommend for many reasons: Great location and proximity to DC highlights, a delicious cafe, beautifully decorated rooms and wonderful amenities; our favorite being the complimentary bikes! We rode around the city, every day of our stay. The staff were all very kind and polite. We will stay there again, upon our next visit!

I love this hotel and have stayed there multiple times, it is luxurious and the front desk staff are wonderful. It is exceptionally clean and the bath products are the best. I always look forward to my stays here.

Overall absolutely Amazing stay, not only is Riggs Hotel beautiful, it’s clean and the staff are above and beyond friendly and helpful- everyone from the valet, front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant staff!! Impeccable service! The food at Cafe Riggs is delicious, we ate both dinner and breakfast here and it was fabulous, and again with great service. The polished politeness of the staff really stood out and made us feel special and like we were at a fancy high end place. I can’t say enough positive thoughts about Riggs and will definitely be going back!!
