About the Hotel

Constructed in 1891 as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, the landmark example of Richardson Romanesque architecture was known as the Bank of Presidents, and resides at the intersection not just of 9th and F Street, but of American history.

Warm and welcoming Bell Captain Garnett!
Garnett our bell captain was so amazing, helpful and welcoming. He made our comings and goings so pleasant. He even told us that he remembers when the Riggs was a bank that his family used! We look forward to coming back.

Great experience
Location was perfect to the convention center not a long walk at all but a very nice walk. Everyone was nice and accommodating in the hotel and friendly. Our favorite was Garnett the bell captain! He was always so extra ordinary when he saw us. The trumpets he does was always cherry on top.

Great spot for a family vacation site seeing
Stayed here 3 nights as a young family of 4 for our kids' spring break. The staff was so great and accommodating with our children. Special acknowledgement to Garnett who joked around with our kids every time we bumped into him in the lobby. Breakfast had great options for kids and adults and was reasonably priced. The bar/lounge was a nice hangout spot in between site seeing. The hotel is in a great location near lots of restaurants, the mall and museums, and metro stations including one to Reagan airport. Highly recommend staying here!
