I recently stayed at Salamander Washington DC, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel has a calm, elegant feel—modern, but not overdone. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with soft bedding and a bathroom that felt like a mini spa. What stood out most was the service. Every staff member I interacted with was polite, helpful, and professional without being stiff. You could tell they took pride in making sure guests felt welcome and cared for.

From the service at the front desk to the amazing restaurant, Dogon, we enjoyed our stay so much. It was my boyfriends 30th birthday and he was floored with how everyone celebrated him and it made him feel very special.

I give the Salamander Hotel 5 stars for hospitality, efficient staff, elegant and comfortable rooms and lovely guest accomodations.

The Mandarin Oriental DC was one of my love languages for several years, but I hadn't visited since they were purchased by the Salamander chain 2-3 years ago. I decided to give them a try for a local overnight staycation. The hotel was as beautiful as I remembered. I stayed in a "normal" room, which held the exact same design profile as the Mandarin Oriental, and I really appreciated the nostalgia of that. I have heard that the suites have been completely redecorated, but didn't note this firsthand. Every staff member I encountered was absolutely excellent - friendly, attentive, and helpful. My only downside was the valet parking fee - it has ballooned to almost $90.00 from the $48.00 that it was previously, which is insane to me. By general principle, I will likely take the Metro the next time that I visit the hotel to avoid this. Also, be careful to read the room service entree descriptions! I ordered a $30.00+ omelette that had no sides (a piece of bacon or a few potatoes, please?).

I stayed one night at Salamandar—it was such an amazing experience. I was attending a wedding and our bridal party was staying there overnight. Eskedar stood out as one person who really made our experience special, especially when we were lounging in the lobby waiting for flights. She was very pleasant and introduced us to the host who was also very friendly. I also want to thank the amazing employees doing Valet - they made the process so easy especially when we had a lot of stuff to take out and move around.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
