25th Anniversary at Salamander
My stay at this Salamander has been a truly wonderful experience. The property itself is beautiful, with stunning views that add to the peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. A special thank you to Eskedar, the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. She personally made sure we were placed in a gorgeous suite for our 25th year anniversary with an amazing view. Her kindness and attention to detail truly made a difference. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and first-class experience.

Amazing hospitality and beautiful hotel!
Amazing experience thanks to exceptional service from Eskedar! From the moment we walked in, she welcomed us with warmth and professionalism, making our check-in seamless and easy. She answered all my questions patiently and went above and beyond. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and the bartender was amazing as well. We travel a lot, but this experience was by far the best! Truly outstanding hospitality from start to finish. Thank you Eskedar!!

Sorely Disappointed
The phones in my room are not working, and it has taken over 2hrs to get someone using my cellphone to address the issue. It’s 0035 and the gentleman I’ve finally been able to get on the phone has just informed me that it will have to wait until tomorrow and that if I have an emergency to call 911. I can’t order room service, can’t reach housekeeping to get extra toothbrushes, toothpaste or shower caps, which my family and I need. The number I’m using from the website is hit or miss with whoever is on the other side picking up and hanging up. When I checked in the elevators were not working and someone in fact had just gotten stuck. This hotel has been on my bucket list for along time but 6hrs into my first night, I am sorely underwhelmed. I’ve prepaid for 4 nights and am worried about how the next few days are going to go.

The Salamander DC gives the appearance of luxury but doesn't come close to meeting the bar set by the Mandarin Oriental at this property. The recently renovated rooms feature modern-looking but low-quality materials that felt like they were applied in a rush. More was taken away than was added in the transfer of ownership. The spa is still great though, and our dinner at Dōgon was spectacular! Chef Kwame Onwuachi and staff made our anniversary weekend very special. The bones of this property are amazing, and the memories we forged there over the past 15 years will stay with us forever, but we won't be returning.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
