One of the Worst FHR Experiences
I booked my stay through Amex FHR, but unfortunately this was one of the worst FHR experiences I’ve had. Check-in was frustrating, we arrived at 12:30pm, was told I had “priority,” and waited in the lobby for an hour, yet no room was ready and no promised text ever arrived. In the end, I wasn’t able to check in until 4:30pm. The “upgrade” offered was simply switching from two queens to one king, which felt misleading. Breakfast was also disappointing — a long wait for a table, poor buffet quality with empty trays, and à la carte options taking 30–40 minutes. Other details, like being woken at 6:30am by a clock not reset by housekeeping, and a confusing phone system with no direct line to the front desk, only added to the frustration. Even basics like toothbrushes weren’t stocked in the room and had to be specially requested. Overall, this property fell far short of the FHR standards I’ve come to expect.

Nice rooms and views, service was a let down
Nice river view from room & spacious rooms. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace. However, avoid the breakfast room for breakfast. We experienced incredibly slow service & long wait times. What’s worse is they are not communicative or realistic about the long wait time to guests. Many guests waited up to an hour to be seated, and they weren’t overly busy. Disappointing experience. Not worth it.

Lovely
This is my second time at this hotel and it just gets better and better. The first time I went, the hotel was under construction, so it was difficult to assess. The hotel rooms are top notch, the staff really goes out of their way to assist and make things right, the breakfast was meh, Dogon’s was amazing. I went to the spa and it was a fun experience, you almost forget you’re in the city. Overall, I love the Salamander experience - it’s an unbeatable brand and I am rarely disappointed.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
