Not like other Thompsons we've stayed at
We were excited to stay at the Thompson Navy Yards in DC for 4 nights and while the location is good (close to the metro as well as several really good restaurants) the service and cleanliness wasn't up to par compared to other Thompsons we've stayed at. The cleaning of the room was cursory, floors were not swept and some linens weren't replaced (bath mat) and we asked the front desk twice to have the reading light over the bed fixed and it wasn't resolved over four days.

First Impressions are Everything
This boutique hotel is a hidden gem. As with anything, there are pros and cons to the property but what makes this hotel fantastic is it's front end staff. They are on point! From being greeted at the door with smiles and friendly small talk to the exceptional service at the front desk, you immediately feel very comfortable. A special thank you to Ahmad, Natalie, Myron, Ody, and of course, the friendly Verdell. Thank you for making my stay exceptional. I will definitely stay there again on a return trip to Chicago.
