Reviews for Waldorf Astoria Washington DC

Breathtaking Central Atrium and Superior Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We were warmly greeted by reception in the beautiful central atrium. The atrium is large and magnificent but with small bistro tables and groupings of furniture which gave an intimate feel in a bright and elegant space. The room was a premier king lavishly decorated with a chandelier and gold colored brass fixtures in the marble bathroom. Our visit was made even more memorable when a cake for two and a box of truffles were delivered in recognition of our 40th Anniversary this month. Every member of the staff we encountered was professional and friendly. I salute the hotel staff for the part they played in it.

Superb overnight

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We were passing through DC on the way to our final destination and decided make it an overnight. A friend recommended we book WA and glad we did. The property is so beautiful and the service was excellent. Anthony from valet was the first person we met when we arrived. He was very personable, friendly and so helpful since we arrived so late. I loved his scarf lol and complete look was so professional but his personality definitely set the tone for our short visit. The next day he even remembered us and followed up if we found the spots we were looking for. We didn’t get a chance to see the observation deck or dine at the hotel but the lobby and interior is so elegant and beautifully decorated. They had cherry blossom decor which was stunning. We did order room service and the service was top notch, prompt delivery and delicious food. We would definitely stay here again.

Luv y’all

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We went for cherry blossoms. Even if it’s not real trees. They were pretty in the lobby and the harp players were magical. Sad I didn’t get to have tea time but the breakfast team was on point. One of the few chains that give you the wow, when it comes to customer service and environment. It may cost you a pretty penny but I like things above average to make it memorable. Beatrice and Estefania for making our trip smooth and memorable. Y’all are keepers in my book! Waldorf is lucky to have y’all and some team members I didn’t catch their name sorry.l and I’m sorry and feel bad. Ty for making us leave as happy campers.

The very best in DC and beyond.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Without a doubt, this is one of our very favorite hotels ever, anywhere in the world. The beauty of the hotel is indescribable. You must see it and experience it. So, if you’re not staying here, do yourself a favor and stop in to see the incredible grandeur of the lobby. But if you have the occasion to stay in DC, be sure to stay here. It’s an absolute can’t miss experience. Peacock Alley is a place where you can absorb yourself for an entire morning or afternoon. And The Bazaar by José Andrés is a “can’t miss”. The food at both places is delicious and the service is exceptional. But as we all know, the physical beauty is only a small piece to the puzzle in the hotel business. It’s truly the staff that makes a property special. And there is no better staff than the one that has been assembled here. Brian, the valet, greeted us by name. How in the world could he open the door to our car and possibly know who we were with the number of people that come and go throughout each and every day? Beatrice, who checked us in, gave us the most gorgeous room. Thanks Beatrice! The room is exceptional with high ceilings and a turret. We spent an afternoon and the following morning in Peacock Alley, and had the real pleasure of having Mostafa as our server extraordinaire. What a personality! He is awesome and made both our afternoon and next morning feel special. Thanks for being so exceptionally kind to the two of us. Three others need to be mentioned. I communicated with Amber at the concierge desk pre-arrival. And then had the distinct pleasure of meeting her upon check-in. Truly exceptional. She is filled with surprises that touched us is so many ways and worked very hard to make sure our visit was perfect (and it was!) We were lucky enough to get to meet Katie, front desk operations manager. She is full of knowledge about the hotel and its prior life as the old post office. Keep up your great work. Under your watchful eye, the Waldorf DC will continue to soar. And last but certainly not least, I hope the general manager of the hotel finds the person in housekeeping who did our turn-down service last evening (room 721 on 4/13). Sometimes, the most inconspicuous staff members have the largest impact on a stay and unfortunately we did not get her name. Please, please find her and thank her for us. We were made to feel special at every moment of our stay here at the Waldorf. We can’t wait to return. And we will return. You can count on it.
