Had a wonderful afternoons tea in Peacock Alley at the Willard. It’s a beautiful space. The food (sandwiches, scones and sweets) were all delicious as was my Cherry tea. Excellent service, especially from Subi who was very attentive and friendly. A fabulous way to celebrate the birthday of a fabulous friend!

My good friends and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at the Willard. The service was excellent, many thanks to our charming attendants JP, Subhe, Liliana, and Deepak. They really know how to make their guests feel like VIPs. Everything was delicious, especially the tea JP recommended. The manager César ensured that we had everything we needed. Fantastic experience.

I stayed here on my own for a week to visit the sites of Washington DC. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and reminded me of a grand country house. I had booked a junior suite with Monument view. I was a bit disappointed that it was only on the fourth floor, so I could only see the tip of the monument, but the room itself was beautifully decorated and very clean. It seemed as though it had just been decorated too and was fresh. The bedding was comfortable and the shower was spacious although there was no bathtub. The staff were very friendly but I never saw the same person twice at the reception desk. The location is brilliant right in the centre and walking distance to almost everywhere and only five minutes walk to the White House. The round robin bar was very nice but pricey and the café de Park restaurant was also very nice for breakfast or dinner. I would recommend this hotel but it is very expensive for the services offered and the $35 daily amenity fee on top was a surprise when I checked in as I was under the impression I had already pre-paid (a substantial amount) for everything.

The staff at the front desk were not very helpful. They charged us incorrectly and wouldn't fix the problem so we insisted on speaking with a manager that was just as arrogant as the woman "manager" at the front desk. Eventually as we insisted they corrected their error. They had put us in a terrible room instead of the high floor suite we had booked and was confirmed. The front desk staff said it wasn't possible to get a suite in the upper floors as they are always booked out to the weddings that are per them at the hotel every week - so get your booking preference confirmed in writing. We were eventually moved us to a lower floor suite that was just ok. Not what we expected from a hotel that boasts about it being so helpful and elegant as the room was dated and old feeling. There are also promotional specials at the spa that they would not honour. And, while they offer a discount towards wording from their Restaraunt's, they don't tell us until afterwards that it wasn't eligible towards their high tea. One saving grace, Deepak, who helps guest on the main floor was just terrific. A warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
