Wonderful experience! Deepak was great!

We had a brief but great stay at the Willard. Very centrally located to all of DC’s attractions (eg White House, National Mall). The hotel has been part of American history yet nicely modernized to today’s amenities of a 5-star hotel.

We’re local to the area and went to the Willard for afternoon tea at the Tea Room for our anniversary. You can leave your car with the valet and the Tea Room and the restaurant will both validate the parking. Right now, the area around the Willard is full of construction vehicles doing East Wing destruction, so plan an extra 5-10 minutes to navigate the area. We walked right into the Tea Room and were immediately seated. Deepak acknowledged that we were there for our anniversary, offered us Champagne to start and helped us navigate the tea menu. I’m not much of a tea-drinker, but he helped me navigate the different styles and explained the flavor differences in a helpful way. My wife appreciated his knowledge and his suggestion (Cherry Almond), which ended up being one of her favorites for an afternoon tea. Service was impeccable, as you would expect from a place like the Willard. Hot water arrived before we knew it would be needed and we didn’t feel crowded by other tables. The noise level was quiet enough to not disrupt our conversation. Deepak also explained some of the history of the hotel, along with the White House China service used in the tea room. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’re thankful to Deepak for making it a memorable anniversary experience. Locals and visitors alike can appreciate the history of the hotel, and while afternoon tea isn’t cheap ($90/person), it’s great for a special occasion and a good alternative to dropping 2-3x the price for a fancy dinner in DC.

We have never stayed in a nicer hotel. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The room was unbelievably quiet. The bathroom was impeccable. Everyone on the staff, people like Ramona, treated us like we were royalty. Thank you.
