Reviews for The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City

Stay was fine, not remarkable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Although we've stayed at numerous upscale properties over the years, this was our first stay at a Ritz-Carlton. I'm disappointed to report that the stay was just...fine. The room was clean and the location is excellent. Service was good if not remarkably so. But if this is the level we can expect from the brand, we weren't impressed. Everything was probably quite grand some time ago, but now it's just dated. Can't remember the last time I've had a shower/tub combination, and a shower curtain to boot. Older furnishings, dated decor. Prices were quite high compared to value. Certainly a pleasant enough stay with no particular problems, but with so many options in the area, we wouldn't rush back to this one.

Dingy hotel Not worthy of the Ritz Carlton name

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This is probably the dinginess Ritz Carlton I’ve ever been to in my entire life. Come into here to be highly disappointed. Not only is the lobby uninspiring, the service is poor and the food has much to be desired. I just paid $75 for essentially a Caesar salad in a wrap with fries. It was probably eight dollars worth of food if that, and I understand that there’s inflations and hotel margins but that is a complete rip off. I am here for the US TIA convention, and I cannot believe that this hotel has treated everybody at this convention with such hostility by providing such a terrible experience for everybody here. Drinks are overpriced, the safety deposit box in my room is broken, the drain isn’t properly working in the bathtub, the paint stale, the carpets are all, and if you spend more than 200 bucks on this hotel room, you have been severely ripped off. This is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and it should be a two star hotel not a five star hotel that bears the name of Ritz Carlton .

Felt more like Hilton/double tree than Ritz. OLD interiors, GREAT service though

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

OLD room, pretty common areas, +1 on rating b/c GREAT service by everyone (Rahid, restaurant, check in, check out) But facilities are OLD the TV interface was OLD. It felt more like a double tree than what I expected of a Ritz. No slippers. Refrigerator was filled and could not hold anything e.g. my leftovers. Only magazine was wine spectator, then some fashion thing. Usually there's a city magazine. No chest of drawers to put my clothes. Holes in sheets. water damage at bottom of doors, FREE postcards and postage.

Great location, friendly staff.

Room 829 had a bathroom sink that made loud, gurgling noises after the sink was used. I think the next door neighbor complained, and the staff tried to solve the problem by pouring drain cleaner, but the problem wasn't resolved, and it still persisted. Holes in bedsheet, very exorbitant prices for Pringles, nuts, choc, drinks in room. You can not utilize the fridge as the hotel has stocked it fully with their drinks, and if you remove anything, you will be charged as it has sensors! If you want them to remove things from the fridge, it also incurs a fee!! Odd number rooms have a view of vents and air-conditioning. The bathroom door is about 10 inches from the toilet, making it hard to sit without hitting your knees. Inner door knob is silver, the other gold! Staff is friendly. Clean, comfortable bed. Conveniently connected to mall, and has a Chick-fil-A opposite the hotel.

A solid hotel choice in NOVA

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I chose a club level suite - bath and a 1/2 - separate bedroom and living room - monument view. This was a typical RC/ Marriott suite offering. Nice, but not outstanding. Front desk was a bit disorganized at check-in, but friendly and professional. Service in the RC Club was fantastic as usual - with the typical food and beverage options - worth the extra price in my opinion. This hotel is connected to the shopping mall at Pentagon City and has very easy access to the DC Metro train - only two stops from DCA airport.
