Romantic Beach Weekend
From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive and friendly. Knowing it was our anniversary getaway, they welcomed us with glasses of bubbly and continued the five-star quality service throughout our stay. The amenities and extras offered were very nice including snacks and soft drinks in the room, breakfast on our terrace, umbrella and lounge chairs on the beach, a bottle of champagne in our room to celebrate and always accommodated us for dinner at the Bistro. Our dinner at Coast, the Forbes five/star restaurant, was delicious and very reasonably priced for the seasonal pre-fixed menu offerings. The service was outstanding with a special shout out to Craig and Abdiel. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back! Thank you OH for a very memorable weekend!

Gimmicky. Also, poor food and service
Pros: - Our room was nice. Spacious, relatively new, housekeeping was fine, quiet aircon and we couldn’t hear the neighbours. We were top floor, so had no one above us. Cons: - Food was really very poor indeed. Poor quality, badly seasoned, etc. I agree with the many other reviews mentioning bad food. Other than one dinner in the Bistro and some sushi rolls in the Secret Garden, everything was poor quality and only ever luke warm, not properly hot! - Service was also really badly organised and poor. I agree with a lot of the other reviewers that mention poor service. - Crowds! It was so busy and packed and loud! And this also impacted the service. It seems really to be catering for locals and its “members”. Not at all for its actual hotel guests. I say “gimmicky” because the hotel is someone’s idea of what an old, high-end seaside resort should be - and it fails. It just feels all a bit Disney…

Private dinner party for 20 people in Bloom/Harbor Room
Hannah Schmitt and her team went above and beyond to create the most magnificent event for us on Friday June 27th. It is always the goal to exceed the clients expectations and they did that on every front. We and all our guests would like to thank you enormously for everything that you did to make this the most memorable occasion for John's birthday. The staff were without exception, amazing. The room and the option to have either Bloom all the Harbor Room depending on the weather, was wonderful. You took my idea of flowers and created a vision of perfection. I could not been happier. What was also unbelievable, was the fact that you were hosting an enormous wedding in the tent on the lawn, had the hotel and restaurants full of guests, and still managed to make our event feel cozy, personal, quiet, private and completely removed from all the hullabaloo elsewhere. Beautiful hotel, awful food
This is a fabulous hotel. Unfortunately, the food is terrible. The service is unimpressive. We had a birthday lunch on the veranda yesterdayand it was a big disappointment. It is pricey, which you expect but the food was marginal at best. Stay here but eat in downtown Westerly where there are lots of great places.

Can't wait to return
My husband and I stayed at Ocean House for a long weekend and had a phenomenal experience. The little details and care by the staff really made the hotel stand out as a wonderful place. We just took a trip to a different "luxury" hotel and couldn't help but compare our experience to our trip to Ocean House - which blew everything out of the water! We're already planning our next trip. Some standouts: - The spa was incredible! From the pool, to my massage, to the relaxation room, everything was perfect. Highly recommend. - The grounds and common spaces are impeccably maintained. We loved spending time in the main lobby, sitting by the firepit under the stars, and walking the beach. -Our room was well-appointed, clean, and the housekeeping staff continued to delight with little gifts and treats throughout our stay! -We ended up eating every meal at the hotel since we were there during the off-season, and really appreciated the friendly service by all of the hosts and waitstaff. Having one special dinner at Coast was also really lovely. I could see this hotel having a different feel during the season with more families (as there are a lot of family activities on offer), but we loved the cozy, quiet atmosphere of mostly couples. It felt like a real escape!
