Brunch Only
We heard a lot about the extraordinary brunch from the locals in Narragansett. It's a way for regular folk to access this property which is otherwise out of most people's reach at about $1000 per night - that's the basic room. For nearly $100 per person for breakfast, I recommend you get 2 proper meals elsewhere. Yes, the surroundings are nice, but otherwise the food is incredibly mediocre while the service is fair. We were seated, not in the main dining room, but in a Members area that was empty and not connected conveniently to the place where the buffet was located. Although it was presented as an upgrade, it really did feel like a downgrade. It could have been because there were a big function the day before, and maybe the hotel guests and regulars were given preference, but I suppose my point is that I shouldn't be wondering about this. I've been to a lot of fine dining establishments in my time, so you kinda know where you're at when you get the table by the kitchen or restrooms. We did, in fact, have easy access to the rest rooms in the hallway that led back to the lobby and actual dining room. It's a nice place, don't get me wrong, but I doubt we will ever go back.

family weekend
I shared a wonderful weekend with my family at the beautiful Ocean House. I booked 3 spacious rooms and received all the amenities I had hoped for and more! our weather was beyond beautiful..even though it was October, we went swimming.The beach is lovely with a casual restaurant and we sat in a cabana. The staff is plentiful, so you can have a chaise or an umbrella. we ate every meal at the hotel and we loved it!. we took daily morning classes with Anita, who is the fitness instructor extraordinaire. And lastly, I must commend Maureen, the room manager, for all our extra special attention. she knew it was an important weekend for me..its pricey...but worth it

The view is amazing! Do not order the lobster roll! The service was exceptional, that’s why it was so surprising that the food was so terribly inadequate (is a kind word). The lobster is a lobster that is not made in nature and seemed to me to be reconstituted in some sort. Served warm on a lobster roll, not even looking appealing, but we did taste it to be fair. The manager (who was very pleasant ) did take the lobster rolls (at $52 each )off the tab. But it’s such a gorgeous location, such an upscale hotel, please - have some dignity people! Quality control is essential in managing reputation, there were even shells in the role. The veranda is amazing and I highly recommend that for cocktails and viewing, but the food is an embarrassment to the establishment. Try harder! As a side point, and maybe irony, my sister and I were on a lobster roll quest! And we definitely failed on this one

I took advantage of the fitness classes offered at the ocean House resort as a guest staying for five days One of my most enjoyable experiences I had was the pleasure of taking Pilates class with Anita Bussey, and she is absolutely outstanding. Anita is not only extremely knowledgeable and professional, but she also brings warmth, encouragement, and a personal touch to her work. Anita’s clear instruction and positive energy made my class both challenging and enjoyable, and I left feeling stronger, refreshed, and motivated. She takes the time to tailor movements to each participant, ensuring a safe and rewarding workout experience. Anita is truly an asset to the resort’s fitness program, and I would highly recommend her classes to anyone looking to improve their strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. I am looking forward to returning as a guest in the near future and taking more of her Pilates and yoga classes. I also enjoyed the water aerobic classes offered. Thank you, Marion

We had lunch at the Ocean House. Delightful beyond belief. The food was most excellent. The service extraordinary. The view of the Ocean and Block Island stupendous. Worth the visit even if you don't stay i this magnificent hotel.
