Reviews for Saddlebrook Resort

Fantastic Tennis; below par Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

I recently went to Saddlebrook Resort with my family in March 2026. After spending 5 days at Saddlebrook in a two bedroom suite, we came to the conclusion that we would absolutely come back for the tennis program and we highly recommend the tennis, however, we would not recommend the resort itself. We felt the resort was lacking in several ways and the quality of the stay did not justify the price. We had Larry as the tennis instructor and he was great! He was incredibly knowledgeable about tennis and gave very helpful tips while keeping the lesson fun. It is clear that Larry is a very experienced coach and knows what he is doing. Would highly recommend Larry as a tennis instructor at Saddlebrook. Would not recommend the resort for the following reasons: First, the food was not good. Specifically, the food at the 'Cellar' restaurant was disappointing --- dry chicken, bad salad, and slow service. Most disappointing was the poolside food -- the guacamole was bad (it almost was liquid - like baby food consistency!) Second, our pool experience was below par. The pool was suspiciously 'cloudy' during 3 of the days that we were there, such that we could not even see the bottom of the pool. It made us concerned about the cleanliness of the pool water. The pool deck also plays extremely loud music for the majority of the day on Saturdays and Sundays and its very annoying. Its so loud that you can't even read a book or sleep it's so distracting. Third, we felt the maintenance of the resort was not great. There were sheets left on our porch for days while maintenance was cleaning the unit above us. Despite the recent renovations of the resort, we felt the resort could make improvements. Would recommend the tennis, not the resort.

Saddlebrook property is being improved.

We enjoyed the property at Saddlebrook. We did not rent a Saddlebrook property but an AirBnb. We purchased the pool/golf/tennis package from Saddlebrook though. Main pool is beautiful while the Lakeside pool closest to us needed maintenance. I would like to commend Saddlebrook concierge hostess, Heaven Stinson, for her very pleasant personality and going out of her way to help us get set up with our pass.

We can't wait to return next year.... or sooner!

I had to take some PTO from work and wanted to find a TENNIS CLINIC. I found Saddlebrook online and decided to give it a try. At the same time, I realized the timing corresponded with my son's spring break from college and thought it would be a great time for bonding and invited him along. We made our reservations through STACEY at the Tennis Center, and she answered all my questions and setup our stay and the Tennis Sessions for the week. We worked with "TENNIS LARRY" who was exceptional, Hank, and Warren and had a great week of tennis and instruction. I did the 5/hr daily session most days and my son joined us in the afternoon hours. They did a great job lining us up with other participants at matching skill levels and provided some challenging drills to improve our daily play. Already, after playing today upon my return with my regular group, the crew noticed a HUGE difference in my serves and volleys! My son and I are both also beginners at golf and so after talking with Aiden at the golf shop the week prior to our trip, had arranged some instruction with Logan, one of the Pro's there. Logan gave us some tips on the driving range before joining us for a few holes on the course. The courses were beautiful and we had a great day on the courses as we took our time chasing balls down the fairways, or at least we wish they were on the fairways! :) Logan's instruction though, helped us to keep some of them there. I have a great video but could not get it to upload here. While on the campus, we also enjoyed great food and great service at the dining establishments with honorable mentions going to Lavender and Michael at Rare1981 and Benji and the crew at the poolside bar. I was not sure what to expect but was more than pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. I was a little concerned as I noticed reviews discussing the shape of the place over the last few years but did know they are in a period of transition with new ownership investing a lot into the facilities and offerings. It seems they are heading in the right direction as everything on our trip, was stupendous! I am not one to normally leave a review, but we really did have that great of a time that it was warranted to leave a comment!

Great place

Off the bat….. great people. The dinning staff. The bartender I believe here name was Amanda…. The concierge that checked us in… and the general manager with the best hospitality… top notch. Amazing. If you stay here you will not regret it…. That being said… it’s not the four seasons and they need to do some more marketing to families… management needs to do an overnight stay at TradeWinds in St. Pete’s and Bahamar in the Bahamas… this place is great now … because of the people they have. Place has the potential to be perfect.
