Reviews for Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera

Wonderful surprise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Went with a group and did not know what to expect. We were amazed by the hospitality and friendliness of all the staff. The rooms with sea views are very nice and spacious and we loved the openness of it all, with bathroom integrated in the bedroom. Bed is comfortable and air conditioning working very well, good coffee machine in the room too. Even though the hotel is not close to Zadar, there is plenty to do on the premises. The spa and sports facilities as well as the many pools are amazing. The private beach is looked after very well and has plenty of armchairs, The gardens are beautiful. Restaurants choices are plenty and the quality of food very good. Manager Emanuel will help with each and every issue and beyond. Zadar is only about 13 KMs away and can easily be reached with taxi, Uber or Bold. It is a perfect place to relax and be pampered.

Fancy and extensive hotel that delivers very few... money worth little.

We went for a conference in there. At the conference days, there was incredebly hot, but no air conditioning and a very bad acoustics in the rooms. We could not listen to our ownership section. Then, we had the dinners. Bad planned amount of food, poor quality service and low amount of food (even though the costs were very high). Finally, for the "gala dinner" which costed a lot for a single person, there was also a very low amount of food, with average to low quality. This is not a 5-star hotel, honestly.

GREEDY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

we were due on a walking tour of croatia and my wife broke her wrist and foot before wqe flew out.Of 14 hotels only 2 refused to cancel our reservation without charge. This one asked us to go via booking.com to cancel. This we did.The hotel refused citing their 28 day policy. To repeat myself almost all the others agreed so my advice is to think carefully before enetering into an agreement with this group !!

5 star prices and facilities, 4 star rooms, 3 star service

Pros: Stunning sea views and pools). Seems like a good family resort if you want an all-inclusive and you enjoy hanging out by the pool or on the beach. Breakfast and dinner spreads are good if you like buffets. Cons: Service is not great. Very functional, not friendly, or attentive. They’re there to set up or clean up rather than to help. My sense is the staff is unengaged and not very happy. Spotty maintenance like unlit hallways and carpets that need cleaning. Room is small, the bathroom is half the room and it's separated only by a curtain, pillows are lousy.

Fantastic

We went for our anniversary and it was fantastic. The location is great, there is a private beach and you can see the mountains from your balcony window. We had advised that it was our anniversary in advance and they kindly upgraded us to a Junior Suite and put some towel Swans and rose petals in the room. The buffet, both breakfast and dinner, had a huge selection and catered for all tastes. We also ate at the on site a la carte restaurants and cannot fault the food or service. The hotel was mostly filled with tours so we were lucky to have the pools to ourselves most of the time and the weather was a lovely 23 degrees. We did use the indoor spa area for the pools and loungers- be mindful that the Black Spa with the Hammam, plunge pool and Saunas is a nude area only. Of particular note were Sime and Slawko (I hope I've spelt that correctly) who were warm and welcoming whenever we interacted with them. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others.
