Esplanade Zagreb Hotel

With a hotel at the higher price range your expectations will be enhanced and this hotel delivers on wow factor in public areas and the beauty of the building in general so you can forgive a lot. The location is very good and I had one of the best cocktails of our trip (but you’d expect it for the price). A lovely quiet room that could do with a new carpet but the bed was extremely comfortable and we had one of the best sleeps of our trip. Communication is poor. We had to ask four times for tea making facilities in our room (one in advance by email) and several times for a soiled linen headboard protector to be replaced - this was done on day two half way through our stay. Some of the reception staff need training in dealing with customers - it’s one of those places where a few of the staff members (not all) have got that air of superiority that has mostly disappeared from top rated hotels today - it still lingers at The Esplanade. There are a number of staff in the foyer to open the door and welcome guests but they were usually inside with the doors closed and were never there before we had struggled with it ourselves. None of this is acceptable for a hotel that appears to have more staff than guests. However, this is a magnificent hotel and I would return - for the comfortable bed and quiet room alone and the prices are about right.

We recently completed a two night stay at the Esplanade, and we had a terrific stay. The room was excellent and the hotel itself is something special. We dined at Zinfandel one evening and it was the best meal in our month long tour of Europe. Most importantly, each and every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and professional.

ESPLANADE is a great hotel.Location is perfect,the breakafast is very good,the concierge has to be better informed , Definetely the best place to stay in Zagreb!!

The location, facility and service at this hotel are all first rate. The decor is old world classic elegant. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and large. The staff was quite excellent as was the facility. The Zinfandel restaurant was the best that we experienced throughout our two weeks in the area. We would definitely be happy to stay in this hotel again in the future.
