Majestic hotel in a classic old building, 1 km away from zagreb main square, the Esplanade was capable to keep its majesty. Very classic, almost british, it offers spacious rooms and king sized beds, quality linnen and an excelent bathroom. Do not get enthousiastic for the spa is nothing but a small sauna… the hotel has two restaurants; a fancy one with a beautiful open air terrace, and a french bistro- very nice and tasty.

I've stayed at the Esplanade more than a dozen times, but this was the first stay in 5 years. Comfortable beds, grand style, nice bar and restaurants. But there are no coffee making facilities, no water provided to guests, no turn down service, or chocolates on the pillows. In short, it felt cheap and there was nothing to make one think this is indeed a 5* hotel. We were told there was a 2 star Michelin restaurant - when we fact checked it was a green restaurant (cited for it's local sourcing). The hotel is a bit of a walk from the main areas of Zagreb so I guess five years later there are now better alternatives.

The Esplanade is not even a place, it is a vibration on its own to be experienced. The junior suite and the welcome goods, the Bistro and the Zinfandel, the cocktails, the view, the location, the hospitality, the feel of the place - every bit of the experience was magic. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Zagreb esplande was booked through reservation.com website - because comparatively to other websites this was the lowest priced. The hotel is really worth for the money we paid , service & the room was upto highest standards & worth the stay . And they really obliged for cancellation of last day of my stay as well due to that we left to zadar croatia early .

Perfection. The Esplanade embodies perfection from arrival to departure. The staff is exceptional, the rooms are luxurious, the breakfast far surpasses any expectations and is absolutely delicious. The only word I can think of to describe our stay is perfection. I highly recommend this hotel.
