Reviews for Belmond Sanctuary Lodge

Welcoming oasis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

An oasis of calm given the logistics of reaching Macchu Picchu. The rooms are effectively “cabanas” but perfectly thought out and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The staff could not be more willing or helpful. And the restaurant offering is top rate - quite an achievement given the remote location.

Belmond is a spiritual experience

Wow… This has been the most amazing life experience. You walk out of this absolutely beautiful hotel. And right there is Machu Picchu. We were greeted with drinks and a surprising upgrade to the Terrace apartment. By Kitty. The friendly amazing staff, wonderful food, drinks, silver service. The gorgeous Karen was an absolute delight. And the barman entertained us with his hospitality. This is definitely one of the best hotels in the world. It just tops off the spiritual experience of Machu Picchu. Thank you Belmond. We love you. Carol and Warren

These folks are amazing. Our stay was brief but was seamless. The food in the hotel was the best we had on our week long trip.

Once in a lifetime experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The property sits right at the base of Machu Picchu!!! You can wake up and go to bed being immersed in the energy of this AMAZING wonder of the world! The property itself is beautiful, views awe inspiring and the grounds are perfectly maintained, nestled in the fauna and foliage, plenty to of room to walk about and explore. LOVE the various hummingbird feeders. Rooms are small (read the history of the property) however clean and fresh. Food options are vast and delicious. GREAT staff who are professional and love what they do.

My sister and i stayed fro one night and it was worth the value! Starting from the convenience to be right at the Machu Pichu entrance, to the beautiful hotel nestled in the middle of the forest, the super friendly staff and ultra confortable rooms! Love it!

We visited Peru and the entire trip was spectacular. Orient-Express hotels provided exceptional service and world-class accommodations. We stayed at the Miraflores Park Hotel, Hotel Monasterio, and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. All three hotels had beautiful rooms, outstanding restaurants, and a helpful friendly English-speaking staff. From now on, Orient-Express will be at the top of my list for worldwide travel.

We traveled to Peru and enjoyed stays at Miraflores Hotel in Lima, Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. I am highly satisfied and recommend these hotels without reservation.

Our travels have taken us to several Orient-Express properties. The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is exclusively situated at one of the most 'magical and mysterious' sites in the Americas, and guarantees the visitor never-to-be forgotten experiences.
