About the Hotel

Join us deep in the heart of the world’s most celebrated wildlife reserves, where the Big Five – the lion, the leopard, the buffalo, the elephant and the rhinoceros – run free on the endless, untamed landscape. Perched on a series of elevated platforms and walkways, our Lodge sits next to an animal watering hole, where you can watch a family of elephants stop for their morning drink as you sip your own out on your room’s private balcony. Under the constant protection of local Maasai tribes people, we’ll take you in the bush for an exhilarating game drive, or you can soar high in the sky on a hot-air balloon safari. However you spend your day, our Spa is waiting to help you rehydrate, restore and re-energize for your next adventure. Our only question – where would you like to begin?

Reviews for Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti

Most amazing experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

If I could give more stars I would. This truly was the best experience and exceeded all my expectations! The entire team from the front desk, housekeeping, restaurants, photography, Masai people, safari guides, pool…literally everyone, was absolutely AMAZING!! Everyone was so sweet and truly wanting to ensure we had the perfect experience. We were greeted by Joe, our amazing safari guide for the week, at the Seronera airstrip with a bottle of sparkling wine and snacks to kickoff our visit. The drive from the airstrip to the hotel is a mini safari in itself and we even saw a cheetah with his kill. We stayed a total of 5 nights and did 3 full day safaris plus 1 half day. I honestly could’ve stayed another week at least, but the amount of time we did stay was perfect. I wouldn’t do any less. Joe was able to locate almost all the animals we wanted to see including 2 leopards which are really hard to find. The only one we couldn’t find was a rhino, but I believe he said there are only 40 of them so it’s pretty rare to find one. They’re also more prevalent in a different area. We came in May and were a bit worried about the rain, but we had perfect weather. Not too hot during the day and very short/mild rain on 2 evenings for 30min if even that. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s a bit difficult to get to because of the limited flights, but it’s 100% worth it!

Amazing

Hospitality at its best with amazing views of the plains. This was an authentic experience and all staff were welcoming. We have dreamed about this safari for many years and you have exceeded our exceptions. This is a must visit for any discerning traveler.

Safe grounds

It’s a beautiful lodge! The food was consistently great, whether it was breakfast, seafood dinner buffet, dinner at Boma with Maasai performance, or a personalized romantic dinner featuring locally grown ingredients, arranged by the chef. The staff is working hard, trying to please, despite the bustling atmosphere. The security was vigilant; do not dismiss their effort to protect – you are just a short-term guest, and wild animals rule here. We were very impressed by the enthusiastic, upscale, reputation-worthy lodge manager. Mishaps are unavoidable in such a busy place, but his hands-on approach helps to correct performance flaws and minimize our disappointments. Thank you, Mr. Seynard, for the recommendation and encouragement to take time for self-care. I had a great massage in a beautiful setting. Ms. J was caring and competent. I would recommend this safe sanctuary to travelers with younger children and those who need more comfortable and traditional accommodations.

I expected more of a four season’s experience but didn’t get

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Apparently four seasons bought this hotel when it went bankrupt from what someone on staff told me there. It is a long but exciting drive from the airport because you drive through the park and hopefully get to see lots of animals like I did on your way to the hotel. The decor is very lodge like but of an African art and safari theme. The rooms seemed very dated to me and lots of bugs in the rooms, inside the towels etc. (beetles, moths, ants, flying things). You access the rooms via raised wooden boardwalks with wooden railings. A bit downhill so if you have a farther away room, it is something you feel at this higher elevation as well (almost 5000 feet above sea level). The bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a shower and a big soaking tub. Bathroom needed renovation. Very dated. Tile grout needed bleaching for mildew and repairs. Towels were very rough and scratchy - needed fabric softener - so not in keeping with expectations of a four seasons and also one of my pet peeves. The food was ok depending on which restaurant. The main restaurant on the patio next to the big indoor bar had better food in general. The round shaped African experience restaurant food I did not care for (it was the quality, not the cuisine - dried out chicken, for example). This is an all inclusive package for meals. Wifi was spotty at times. There was a large walk in closet with lots of space and a small safe for valuables. Design was again dated.

Magnificent, Magical & Mesmerizing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This lodge is one of the most wonderful places we ever visited. We truly did not want to leave !!!! What a spectacular place literally out in the middle of nowhere, but with 5 star accommodations and services. Our suite was great overlooking the watering hole. Beds so comfortable and suite spacious. They provide large, insulated water bottles in your room for you to use, and bottled water is replenished at both morning and evening service. The pool was magical. The photo they have in the ad tells it all. We were lucky enough to stay 8 nights, so we were able to enjoy the pool several days. Lunch or dinner on the beautiful Maji Terrace was delicious with great choices. Dinner options are great, Boma, Treehouse, Vineyard room. Our favorite was the Maji Terrace watching the sunset and enjoying dinner and drinks with the vast Serengeti before you. Service was excellent everywhere. Breakfast at Kula also wonderful, so many choices in a beautiful room with nice offerings, including lattes and other drink choices. Staff was friendly and so courteous. Housekeeping, restaurants, spa treatments, which I highly recommend all 5 Star. Matthew the manager was so accommodating and nice. He is truly concerned about his guests. We loved meeting him and spending time getting to know him. He even gave my husband so electrolytes to take. Vivek and Mauricia, also very nice, helpful and caring. Really all the staff, too many to mention were superb. Always smiling and willing to go that extra mile to ensure you are pleased. Feeling cool at dinner, just ask they will bring you a little blanket. Our safaris took us to Ndutu where we saw thousands of animals in the great migration with Pruis our guide. We decided to take a plane to the crater as the drive there is long and arduous. This was handled seamlessly by the lodge. Picnic lunches were great as well. I must say I had read so many TripAdvisor reviews and not one person mentioned the horrendous dirt roads. The most recent review (Rgor24) that I just read did, so pay attention to that. They are so bumpy you feel like you are in a Waring blender. We had 11 hours of it going to and from Ndutu, that is why we took the plane to the crater. It would have been something like 7 hours each way on those bumpy roads, plus going down into the crater, also bumpy which we had to do. We do not suffer from motion sickness, but I can see where that could be a problem, again read Rgor24's review. It is detailed and accurate. The drive from the airstrip to the Four Seasons is at least 45 minutes. That was our first introduction to the bumpy roads. It was unreal. I think a lot of recent rain might have made it a little worse. This is a not to be missed destination. Try to work in some extra days to enjoy the lodge, pool, spa and just relaxing in this magical place. We cannot wait to return.
