Although it's just 6 miles east of Belfast's vibrant city center, Culloden Estate & Spa feels like a secluded country retreat. This Irish landmark was originally built as an official palace for the Bishop of Down, and is tucked into 12 acres of gardens and woodland. With their cozy country house furnishings, many guestrooms and suites gaze over the grounds toward Belfast Lough. Savor fresh Irish produce at Mitre Restaurant, and enjoy a convivial drink with fellow guests in the garden setting of the Cultra Inn. To soothe away the cares of modern life, Elysium Spa offers an indulgent selection of specialized treatments.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside and is in a lovely location, this is our third visit not sure we would go back! At Lesley £400 a night the room wasn’t worth it the bedding had stains on it and the walls were filled with bare plaster’

We stayed for two nights in the Cave hill suite. The views from all the windows were spectacular Room was very specious with beautiful bathroom, the bed was so comfortable and cozy. The whole stay was so special and memorable. All the beautiful art around made a big impression even for non art lovers like us. Definitely recommend it , but book one of the suites instead of a basic room.

For the price I paid, I expected a better quality of food, service and room. I have been in 5-star hotels before and I got a much better food and service. I would come back for the SPA, but not to sleep in the hotel.

Superb surroundings on a spectacular Spring day. Lunch was simple, but precise and delicious. The pea and mint soup in particular was excellent. The service was warm, attentive and polished, as relaxed or as fast as you want. Take the time and relax or grab something quick but beautifully prepared…your choice!

The lovely Vespers restaurant was certainly out of kilter service due to another event at the hotel on Easter Saturday, The lovely waiter explained and apologised for the lengthy delay from the kitchen. We were offered tea/coffee while waiting 45 minutes for our dessert. Not the kind of service residents expect! Our meal took 3 hours. It should have been the highlight meal of our weekend
